Yay, people are finally sick of them, milking old hardware and stuff.

Worldwide graphics card shipments are expected to decline 30-40% sequentially in the second quarter as vendors are suffering from excessive inventories, according to sources from graphics card players. Graphics card sales have been significantly impacted by Bitcoin's dropping demand recently, the sources said.
Oh, boo hoo! We're just going to have to suck it up when vendors drop their prices.

Show me a game worth playing that taxes my 660ti/i5 and I might consider an upgrade. As of right now these console ports don't put a dent in this card. I used to have to have the newest at release...Now it's just totally unnecessary and a waste of money for me as the cost/perf ratio is nil.
i see where you are coming from, but mid end for current gen is what 770 / 280x-ish now? But the thing is, some people want to play @ 1440p with everything maxed. According to my experience, a single 780ti is enough to do most of it but not all. (*WANTZ 96HZ VSYNC*)

We have a option not to buy. If they'll see more sales drop, they'll be forced to lower the prices. Their profit is huge, please don't defend them by talking about profitability.

Also, if they're releasing more rehashes of cards (GTX780/Titan) then say for Eg: 2013: Youve got 20000 cards instock and sell 18000. A good year, right. 2014: You've spent 2013 saturating the market with Overclock versions and Niche cards like the titan, thus you now have 80000 cards in stock and only sell 9000 cards to people with more expendable income and the other 9000 already have a new card, so leaving you with 71000 cards left in stock .. Then yeah... no sh** sales are down.

Maybe if they lower it a bit then all will buy more 700series and finally let go Fermi etc,. I think that's why most next-gen games got postponed to 2015, people dont have enough powerful gpus.. u4e needs at least GK104 ie 680/770 or 7970/280x chip to run ok @ 1080p, postAA.

for us, but most people (this is why it is called mainstream) just need R7 260x or 760ti to play in 1080p and don't even know what AA is.

I hear what you're saying for sure. Guess I didn't consider the high rez / living room folks. At that rez yeah, you would prob need more. I myself have this 24" in my face and never see need for anything more. Kickin' it old school.

Seriously. Even those who were "hardcore" gamers like myself said **** it and didn't upgrade. nVidia and AMD can both eat me with a spoon. I'd rather have my frame rate cut in half, which is what happened, than play into their game. I'm not paying $600-$1200 for a video card, ever.
