I dont really get the "hype" about these Pixel-phones. I recently lost my Huawei P30 Lite while biking and after reading alot of reviews i decided to get a Redmi Note 10 Pro. Im super-happy with it, price vs performance-wise. And i was pleasantly surprised to see that the sim-tray actually had 2 simcard-slots AND a microsd-slot, cant remember seeing that on any phone before. Usually its either 2 simcards or 1+sdcard.

I've seen it and yet at some samples i saw, mainly zoom, the pixel isn't that great, but it's not terrible. I'll skip it for now and it doesn't bring any value to me, mine last phone the Vivo X80 Pro was a big disappointment in all but camera, which it dominates easily. Currently, i'm with the ROG6 and outside the camera, this phone rocks in all aspects.

For me personally I just like testing new technology, not particularly sticking to one. TBH if I can only choose one phone and not do anything else it would "dare I say" an iPhone lol... but I've stuck with Samsung phones and they've been great... though the choice of SoC in NA has been always non consistent. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on Samsung process was meh... Samsung 8+ Gen 1 on TSMC is great! That's why I have an S22U and a Flip 4 for testing. Pixel never really had great hardware and software was vanilla and had no optimizations when it came to battery life but they did have good post processing/AI on the camera and I think thats what they're going for.. or rather the only thing they have going for them. The inhouse SoC is said to be equivalent to an 865 chip which would be... a 2019-2020 chip. Not too bad but not that great either, if their main focus is for AI then I guess thats what they're focusing on. If I wanted the latest and greatest in terms of hardware then I would stick to Samsung side as they usually release their latest screens on their devices. At the end of the day if you want a closed ecosystem, latest and greatest hardware that would be on the iPhone because they have the A16 chip and Samsung's latest displays on their phones so its hard to beat their performance and battery life plus their camera optimizations etc...

I've been using an S20 5G for almost 2 years now. The performance of the phone has been fantastic, as has been the battery life. My only complaint is that the camera is horrendous. If I'm within 1ft of anything I need to take a picture of, it completely loses focus. I considered replacing it with an S22, but the complaints of greatly reduced battery life was really off-putting. If I have to keep a stand alone digital camera on hand for taking pictures within 1ft, and a power cord on hand to charge my phone....there's no reason to spend $500+ on a phone. I might as well just buy the budget phone and put the money saved towards a good digital camera and dedicated equipment to do everything else I use my phone for. My current Galaxy S20 5G uses the SD865 and its performance is still more than acceptable for what I do. I'm not replacing the phone because its performance is lacking in any way. I'm replacing the phone because its camera system is absolutely horrible. After watching multiple reviews of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, and the claimed ability to take photos up close..... I did decide to order one.... Should be here in a few days. I'd go for an iPhone, if it had the functionality that Android does. It's hard to beat the performance of an iPhone because Apple is the only company producing a phone that runs iOS. The OS is optimized for the exact hardware it's running on. There are no variables to consider in development. If Google only had to worry about developing Android for their Tensor G2 chip, the performance would be much better because they'd be able to optimize the OS much further than they can while still supporting other hardware. Wide hardware compatibility has a negative impact on performance....
