Thanks Gigabyte, now I know why my GA-AX370-Gaming K7 was such a POS. Would have been nice if even 1/4 of your of X299 achievements went to the X370 K7 instead.

Gigabyte are also known to bait and switch. They send good spec boards to reviewers and over time, new revisions may come with sub-par (cheaper) components.

Nah, among well known companies MSI has a lot of failing rate in mobo department from my experience. Next is Gigabyte. ASUS/Asrock are by far the best for me. I won't comment about Gigabyte lowering material quality with newer revisions. As long as it works, I don't really care. I trust them.

Actually Hilbert reported on this a few years back:

But apparently it may have happened only on lower end or budget boards. I doubt they would do anything of the sort on their premium boards.

But x299 is a disaster for overclocking? I am getting mixed messages here.

Would not buy any Motherboard apart from ROG Asus Rampage Extreme. You get what you pay for. However Gigabyte GPU's are pretty good, always had high Asic on mine.
