I am never paying 600 quid for one component of a pc, and if Nivida thinks otherwise then they are in for a shock. (goes back to the 350 quid steam deck and laughs at nivida) lol
2 years time when your Steam Deck is gathering dust, you will hear faint chuckles as NVidia announces the 5070 at $800.

Nvidia still cares a lot about the gaming market, that's why they are investing so much money on their software and continue to make great cards. The problem is that they have more than 75% of the market and are making silly amounts of money, so they are too comfortable and can afford to set the prices they want. Even worse, AMD also seems comfortable in their current position and also don't seem to mind charging big bucks for their GPUs... The cards are very good but the prices are atrocious!
What I meant by "market share" is their declining gaming GPU sales, not necessarily relating to AMD, Intel. Do you think pricing had no bearing on this downward trend? Look at their sales in 2010, 2011. You think the upwards creep of prices did not impact that? Thats why I think their main focus will begin to turn to other areas besides gaming.

Maybe not but it is what it is, as DLSS type technology advances then the hardware (tech specs) requirements for like for like performance will diminish at a drop in cost or performance will increase for a rise in cost. Previous Gen = 100 units of performance @ 100 Units of cost Current Gen = 100 units of performance @ 90 units of cost OR = 120 units of performance @ 100 units of cost OR = 140 units of performance @ 120 units of cost Thats where we are heading. You can have the same Perf for less cash, or slightly better Perf for the same cash, or way more Perf for way more cash.
