$600 is a decent asking price imo ... pending reviews of course.

599$ isnt that bad price but even the cheapest aib cards like zotac, manli, inno3d will have atleast 50$ premium on top.

Isn't that bad? MSRP prices for xx70 line: 970 - $329, 1070 - $399, 2070 - $499, 3070 - $499, 4070 - $599. It is almost two times more expensive in less than 10 years. NVidia is successfully boiling a frog...

X070 price jumping up by 20% from the previous gen is quite bad indeed. At the same time, I was actually expecting it to be even worse. Nvidia dropping the price from absurdly overpriced to outlandishly overpriced doesn't make me cry tears of happiness, but it seems like these are the kind of times we are living.

if performance is better then close to 3080 performance I might consider buying this providing I can find one for roughly that 599$ this really should be 499$ card at best seeing my 1070ti was 450$ card and that was 3 generations spaced over the coarse of what 5 years?

I have to agree with Sylwester, this is not a good price, not even close. This should be a $399 card, $449 max.

Sadly we live in time when we get excited by overpriced lackluster midrange card. That sais it all.

True, i can relate to that. I`m seeing sales of different 6950XTs with prices between 760€ and 790€ and i`m already thinking about bitting the bullet again... 😕 GPU makers have us by the balls!:(

I would wait little bit and see how this goes and if amd will release navi32/33 soon or just go look at the used market.

Navi32/33 is taking ages and AMD doesn`t say anything about it! Clearly they are still trying to clear the 6000 series stock. And i have serious doubts that the new 7800/7700XT will perform much better or will be cheaper than the 6900/6950XT... As for used cards/hardware, i prefer to pay more and get a new stuff with warranty.

I do too but looking at the used market gives me some hope. @SpajdrEX actually snagged 6800xt at 450Eur now thats a deal and maybe the only card worth getting atm if you cannot afford 40 series or 7000 series gpu.

are u kidding? 600$ for a xx70 (non ti) product is stupidly high relattive to past xx70 cards this shouldnt be more than 500$ and even thats is high imo these products not so long ago sat between 330$-400$. And while not Nvidias fault once u take in exchange and taxes of most other countries the price hike is exponential, at 600 usd this will cost 910 after exchange and tax+ whatever rape taxes get added in canada this card will easily be 1k. I personally have an extremely hard time justifying this after having got my gtx 980 and gtx 1080 for around 600$ cad and my 6750xt for around 650$ cad. These prices are insane PERIOD!!!

I am never paying 600 quid for one component of a pc, and if Nivida thinks otherwise then they are in for a shock. (goes back to the 350 quid steam deck and laughs at nivida) lol

How conditioned and demoralized everyone must be that some of us are now saying that $600 for that crap is "not bad". It is bad. I don't care what anyone says, with those specs it shouldn't even be called a 4070. There is literally nothing in their lineup that's priced even near reasonably, it goes from terrible to somehow worse down the stack, with some being more insane than others. nVidia wouldn't have been able to fuck the market this hard if AMD actually competed instead of just following the leather jacket's price gouging. Guess we'll have to wait to see if Intel has anything by 2027.

Not only they've pushed the model numbers up (This 4070 is actually a *60 class, simply by looking at how much it was cut down relative to the best product that they can make), but also hiked the prices by a significant amount. So, this is the real "4060" for the price of an *80 from previous generations. "Not a bad price" https://www.ncrr.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/triplepalm-715x300.jpg

I think Nvidia doesnt care as much about the gaming market any more. They may have taken into account their gaming market share will dip. They are focusing more on other areas or fields to make up a bigger percentage of their overall business.

Nvidia has never cut down so heavily from their top GPU, while at the same time inflating ALL prices, not just the flagship. 4000 series are a complete disgrace.

LOL. They're great cards. Everything has gotten more expensive over time, that's nothing new. Especially post covid.

Nvidia still cares a lot about the gaming market, that's why they are investing so much money on their software and continue to make great cards. The problem is that they have more than 75% of the market and are making silly amounts of money, so they are too comfortable and can afford to set the prices they want. Even worse, AMD also seems comfortable in their current position and also don't seem to mind charging big bucks for their GPUs...

The cards are very good but the prices are atrocious!
