that 8gb looks highly unlikely, probably going to be 4gb
4GB should be plenty for 2560x1440 for the next 2-4 years so that's no big deal.

yes looks like :P Ok lets nitpick, at least 20-25%, or kinda like by 580 vs 680. Guess I missed the word OR, I thought comma was obvious enough., yeah talk about nitpicking:smile: lets not get carried away.
Don't make it sound like I can't read and you're right. You posted
Although I was expecting more then 10%, at least 20-25%, kinda like 580gtx vs 680gtx. 🤓
There was no "or" in that post. Your post suggests 680 was 20-25% faster than the 580. Why not just admit to making a mistake?

^ Because I was kinda right even if I misspelled it, look bellow
Looks like you underestimated the difference between a 580 and 680 and are backpeddeling. I also like eclap failed to see how 20-25 is 25-35 guess I`m stupid like him
Judging by these benchmarks I was already generous with 20-25%, nvm 25-35% 🤓 http://abload.de/thumb/perfrel_19208vkk4.gif here its only 19%, or at 1600p 23%. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_680/27.html But ok whatever, lets move on..

Who cares? It wont utilize that memory anyway, not on that chip.
That I don't deny. We're just speculating on the memory size though nothing else.
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/242/242471.jpg
why say then that the difference was 25-35%?
So we can have this chat now.. lol, no 😀 I thought its more then 20-25% too like TK when he questioned my post, guess not. Anyway my point is, it would be nice if it had the same boost like 580 vs 680gtx, so ~25% and not only 10%. I think we can all agree on this one..

The more the better, of course. But if it's "only" 10% and the price is good and they overclock like crazy, they'll be decent cards. Look, the hd 7950 also looks crap on paper, but it was reasonably priced and overclocked by some 40%+ in most cases, making it a pretty decent card.

Yeah kinda forgot about OC, if its like 750ti then no doubt. One leak suggested 5.7tflops which is kinda this 10% but it had 3200SP and only 32ROPs, while here it has 2560SP and 64ROPS, @ 1000mhz base http://video cardz/nvidia/geforce-800/geforce-gtx-880 256bit bus by both, guess this is the only thing right so far and now 8gb 🤓

640x5=3200 40x5=200 16x5=80 And just a question Whats 5x148mm2 chip area size wise? is that too big for a chip?

Hmm, not sure what to think about this news. With current drivers, one of these might suffice for 1440p in games. That Vram looks promising, might not use it all but still. One of these would mean less power/heat than my current set up with SLI. Not that I have issues with SLI, but if I can have one card maintain 60FPS with my settings instead of two, I'd take that. I can always sell these 780's off. Time will tell I guess....this always happens to me. My whole issue with 1440p was the Vram of my cards and went SLI to help offset that issue. Then months later Nvidia (which is awesome btw) came out with the 335.70's and fixed the Vram issue in a lot of games. So that is not an issue anymore. Choices choices....but still If I can get away with one card at 1440p I'd rather do that.

256bit bus I just can't get it if it has a 256bit bus! What where they thinking? :bang: I'll wait till they release one with a 512bit bus or till Nvidia releases Pascal next year.

+1 Couldnt agree more.

238gb/sec memory bandwidth? Greatest crap! 4k gaming made IMPOSSIBLE!
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/115/115462.jpg
I will get 2 of these, most likely an aftermarket edition, and then wait 2-2.5 years for whatever is coming after Maxwell. Vram is a very future proof spec, so if it's 4 or 8 GB it's even better. If one is using multiple GPUs, where you still have the horsepower but run out of memory (I've been there... well, still are) you get really frustrated. I just hope the price will not be over a 780Ti Black... because if it is, then I don't want to imagine what the 20 nm cards will cost like.

isn't it fairer to compare this card to a vanilla 780 (pre-ti?)

It seems way more to fair to compare a 3200sp 880 to a 2880sp 780Ti instead of a 2304sp 780.

yea sure but I mean people are complaining about "small" performance benefits between what is designed as a mid-upper range card and the current bleeding edge tech nvidia has to offer (for gamers) which doesn't make a whole lot of sense when comparing card generations imo. I'm p sure the 20nm 880ti or whatever it's going to be called will bring the 20-25% performance improvements everyone's been waiting for to the table e: well, as far as one can complain about non-existent benchmark results and non-confirmed specs :v e2: if 20nm isn't coming this generation, well **** sucks

10% faster than 780Ti is still good (not great) as this is not big daddy Maxwell and still on 28nm.
It's 10% faster without optimized Drivers.

So far so good, 8gb looks plenty. Although I was expecting more then 10%, at least 20-25%, kinda like 580gtx vs 680gtx. 🤓
It will most likely be 4GB seeing it's an ES.
