This game is really only worth playing if you either have a steering wheel setup, or, if you REALLY like rally. Although rally is my favorite motorsport, I don't have a steering wheel and this game is pretty frustrating on a gamepad. It's also possibly the most unwelcoming game to noobs I've ever played. It throws you right into the deep end from the very beginning and hardly explains anything at all. But if none of that sounds like an issue to you, and, if you have a VR headset, this is possibly one of the best freebies you'll ever get.

I prefer to play this with a controller actually. You are changing directions so fast and trying to correct your steering all the time that it makes spinning a steering wheel around sort of cumbersome. Also I like Dirt Rally 1 better than the sequel mostly because the stages are more interesting.

Yes it's more Sim than arcade and very hard for noobs. Starting off on 75% gravel stages is very hard, but this is meant to be that way. Even me as a rally vet find it hard on an xbox one pad and it can be very frustrating at first. Just don't expect to be coming first all the time like most other car racing games. The game defaults to 0 TC and 0 the other one i can't remember wat it's called but try with TC on 3 and not 0. This game is not really plug & play, you really do need to learn car set-ups and upgrade team. You can make it plug in and play if you grab others expert set-ups from the steam workshop.
