VK_KHR_ray_tracing_pipeline requires vk 1.2.162, these are 1.2.155.
So then why aren't they included with this driver?

It is, it just won't be visible in anything that retrieves the extensions via the loader.

The point is, why is Nvidia claiming that they have included finalized Vulkan Ray Tracing extensions in this driver... and then they aren't there? Is this some kind of a scam?

Interesting.

Interesting.
you can find the entry point in the nvoglv32/64 dll's, unusual way of doing it, but it means not introducing all the other extensions since 155 too soon.

Yeah I wasn't sure about the driver versus loader priority and functions exposed either, game and it's Vulkan SDK, loader and what it supports plus the occasional bug fixes but I wasn't sure if a older loader could limit things and then finally the driver and it's Vulkan API and supported extensions. 🙂 EDIT: Oh that's how it's handled. EDIT: Or can be at least, guess it still could depend on if one queries the driver or the loader come to think of it. Maybe that's handled to avoid that sort of issue and confusion though, problems since D3D's and OpenGL's early days and up until now should have given plenty of examples and cases to better from and avoid certain problems or at least improve chances of avoiding various practices and common problems ha ha. 😀

No fix for the 1080 Ti flicker issue. Ok -> NoGo!
Huh, first time I'm hearing someone complain about a flickering issue.. what exactly is happening? Cuz I've 3 4k monitors hooked to my card for the past 3 years and never have i ever encountered any flickering.

165hz and higher displays are flickering on the desktop, and even grey screening on game start, workaround is to use prefer max performance.

Hmm this driver give me no error on COD MW Remastered prev. driver gave me an IDXGIswapchain error and exit it to the desktop, imo this are pretty good drivers, al my games running good so far also cp2077, i think keeping this drivers....

Just installed this one. As long as it doesn't break anything i will install all new ones right upon release.

Can someone confirm this ? if this is true i wont instal it.
I don't have a problem with it or the previous driver. But I enable MSI Mode every install. One user said that fixed his flickering

I see it on the Gigabyte Aorus 240Hz monitor. There is no pattern to it. Sometimes I wont see it for hours, sometimes within 30 minutes but when it happens so far, it's in a blink of an eye. When you do see it, you think your hardware is on the brink. You never see it when gaming though.

I use the 460.79 and have a 1080Ti and MSI MAG272QP (G-Sync compatible) monitor. I have no issues with a flickering desktop. And I read the notes that the desktop could have issues with a flickering desktop with this driver. Why should I update? Or did some already have the issue with the 460.79 driver? Edit: ah reading the thread about the former driver it seems it was also there.

Weird. I'm using XB271HU Acer. 165hz IPS with no issues. I did modify my bios with the latest GOP available which was dated a few months ago. Maybe that may fix it for some users.

The gop is a mini driver used by the uefi kernel, it is superseded by the display driver. There are some reasons why not everyone would be affected, the panel and its driver board, the timing standards used, synch polarity, etc.
GTF (General Timing Formula) is an older but widely used timing standard. However, newer display are switching to the CVT standard. DMT (Discrete Monitor Timings) is a set of pre-defined VESA timings. VESA updates this standard every year. CVT (Coordinated Video Timings) became the VESA standard on March 2003. CVT supports higher resolutions better than other timing standards. CVT reduced blank ( Coordinated Video Timings-Reduced Blanking) improves on the CVT standard. CVT-RB offers reduced horizontal and vertical blanking periods and allows a lower pixel clock rate and higher frame rates.

The flickering can be very subtle and fast, and happens sporadically.
