I can not see the RTSS server icon intray to open and make adjustments.
MSI-AB -> Settings -> User Interface -> disable "Single tray icon mode"
Though it is still possible to bring up RTSS by MSI-AB -> Settings -> Monitoring -> More-Button

Damn
Thankyou guys!!
Can you help me with my EKK DCC PWM pump not showing RPMs?
Please fix it for windows 8.1
It is completely unusable under windows 8.1. It crashes 10 times a second. See for yourself. It is very easy to replicate. Just install msi afterburner with rivatuner and select something to be displayed in OSD. BOOM infinite crashes

Then I guess I can just ignore you because I want to focus development on modern OS.
then don't false advertise your supported oses?
System requirements:
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 (both x86 and x64 versions) with full administrative rights

Then donât come here with direct lie maybe? Native DX runtimes of each listed OS are supported as is. But if some 19-years old schoolboy decide to add âtrue DX12 support to 8.1â by putting proxies to system folders - no need to blame third party software that it doesnât work for you in such environment. And yes, youâre leaving this place because I donât want to let you to steal my weekend mood. Feel free to come back when you graduate the school and learn to talk differently.

i main 7, have 8.1 on a few devices that it just works better on than 10, and 10 is on the lounge room pc and a server i have valheim and lif:yo
all machines are kept up to date with (with 7 on esu updates so its not unprotected), its also got both a malware retardant hostfile and router side trendmicro domain blocking.
anything i can't run on w7, i can run via remoteplay or on the bigscreen XD

cool, I have a rack cabinet with various Debian or BSD 1u systems in, rest is unifi gear or mikrotik, tend to use win10 these days or ltsb. Everything else I ssh into.
you could add a time counter option, useful for some bench marking scenario, tks
Custom timers are already supported by OverlayEditor/HotkeyHandler combo. Both increasing and decreasing timers are available with different effects (standard, flashing or hiding timer) on time elapsed event. It us demonstrated in this video starting from 4:00:

I'm really disappointed with the latest releases of RTSS. I don't know what happened but before, I used to lock games preferably to 30 FPS with perfect frame times. Now, I can't get any games locked to 30 FPS anymore and the frame times are crazy. There are noticeable frame drops now from 30 FPS, then fluctuates to 29, 28, 27 FPS. The GPU isn't really doing much either so I don't get the micro frame drops. This wasn't an issue before with the same games.

Unwinder and I were discussing this in the other thread, its connected to passive wait times and a problem for games which have wide variations in cpu usage during any given time, its not inherently a fault or flaw in RTSS, its just the nature of such an implementation.

I didn't notice it before but its also present when frame capping to 60 fps. It also micro frame drops to 59, 58, and to 57 FPS. Though the frame times are decent but not perfect.
It's definitely RTSS. I tried going back to 7.3.0 and the latest 7.3.2 beta but that didn't fix the problem; so I tried another older version which is the 7.2.3, and that solved everything. What is going on? What happened to our beloved RTSS?
Okay did I understand right that the person claiming "broken under 8.1" was somehow trying to retrofit DX12 into W8.1?
That was a person who distribute âDX12 for 8.1â mod himself. The mod is in fact slightly patched d3d12.dll proxy with OS compatibility check removed, taken from MS d3d12on7. Placing it directly to system OS folder is unsafe and not the smartest idea, MS designed it to be used as a proxy only, which absolutely cannot allow launching any native d3d12 applications as is. While such mod allows trying running d3d12on7 support capable games on 8.1, it is absolutely expected to break native d3d12 applications if you run them in such environment with such d3d12.dll placed in OS system folder instead of native one. Not sure why he decided to claim it here as âbroken 8.1 supportâ and âlie in RTSS system requirementsâ, probably due to his misunderstanding of DX12 internals or just to get that mod supported this weird way.
Though it is still possible to bring up RTSS by MSI-AB -> Settings -> Monitoring -> More-Button
