Doubt anyone is foolish enough on this forum to buy a 3050.

It´s just to include support for the desktop RTX 3050 that releases today.

Ahh yea forgot that was releasing.. My 3050 in the laptop is running the ones that were released the other day just fine.. Being there was already a 3050 laptop gpu wonder if they are considered the same Hardware ID wise as the new desktop release. Just thinkin out loud.

I was just curious if there was no need to Mod... im not putting these in, no need, but for those with a 3050 in their laptop, if the INF for the 3050 desktop release also inclused the same "Family" as the 3050 Laptops which have been out a long while. (I would guess prob not, but who knows).

The release notes don't show any additional fixes or changes other than support for the 3050, but feel free to test with the modded INF's if you want.

People are buying Radeon 6500s.... 🙄 3050 is way better, the problem is the price.

Performance may be the same at 511.23, but I installed these drivers anyway:

I haven't benched, but real-world gaming performance seems the same. Generally, you know companies like NVIDIA don't include every single behind-the-scenes change in their release notes, as complex as their drivers are. Despite that, just hoped that maybe there was a tiny smidgen of a performance improvement (as an unintended side effect of adding support for a single GPU and going up .09 in their version numbering). I always have to check and see.

Since it's an exclusive 3050 release the only change is support for the given card, newer additions upon what's in 511.23 will first be in the next release. Same goes for the Studio driver.

Typically, yes, I agree with you. If the only change in the driver is what's in the release notes, I'm inclined to agree. All I was saying was that there 'may' have been at least one or two unintended performance changes for any of the 30 series cards due to the added 3050 support. But I didn't see a difference, so it really doesn't matter.
