hello when compared to 431.7, this driver suffers a 5-15% performance drop in volta (Titan V) in dx12 and Vulkan games. Also level load time for some games has increased such as ROTTR SOTTR, echo, and Agony. Nvidia, please consider boosting rather than hobbling prior cards editions, and at the very least don't compromise any performance in driver releases to prior cards. All my observations are at 4k, no DLSS, and nothing higher than TAA (SMAA preferred), no DoF, no Motion Blurr, no down sampling, max shadows, max AF, no quality compromises, no resolution shortcuts, max eye candy, max effects, max lighting, no vignetting, etc As always thank you

Rubbish. AMD introduced a driver side change that improved the stability but dropped performance. its an issue RockStar needs to address. The crashes go all the way back to 388, drivers that were known to be perfect for GTAV. Whatever is wrong, it only occurs on Windows 10 too, game runs fine online in 7. Theres nothing in the video drivers for either brand that would depend on GTAV being online or offline, and we know that -scofflineonly solves the crashing issue in story mode.

yes vsync is broken. it will stutter if enabled. latest beta they added a switch to turn texture streaming off, which also helps with stutter, but the tearing is high.

I am using the DCH driver, the the logs file are directly inside C:\ProgramData not as usual inside C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Is that normal behavior?

Well i've been playing day one and not had a single issue with it either, vsync enabled too and no crashes or anything and haven't had to use the beta.

Consider yourself lucky then. there have been 5 beta updates to fix various things in the game since it was released a week ago, and they are still working on fixing other things as well. (all concerning performance and graphical glitches).

I did see the reports of stuttering and crashes as well as not being to start the game but not experienced any of them myself and consider surge 2 as being one of the best releases quality wise this year, the vulkan issue i'm sure would be very frustrating indeed and i do feel for you in that regard.

Apparently Surge 2 is just dual thread and so suffers performance CPU hit. M$ will be releasing a new patch that will optimise CPU performance so that low threaded apps like surge 2 could get a surge in performance. 15%

That's impressive but in a whole different way. Surge 2 uses Vulkan, contains everything but some of the binaries for D3D12 and no traces of D3D11 or earlier, also contains data for PS4 and Xbox One and enhancements for the stronger models of these. They are going all out with low level API implementation and usage plus support for the console API's and other platform features and despite how Vulkan and DirectX 12 both heavily improve on the standards and utilization for multi core and multi threaded rendering the game is dual core at most? Well I did hear impressions on how much better the beta build was so something somewhere might have gone very wrong very quickly whatever that might have been.

Looks like they still haven't fixed the crashes in GTA Online with this driver GTA V Story Mode has no issues but when you play online, it crashes after 5-10 minutes This only started on 436.30 (for me and other players with GTX 10 series cards) but some people with older hardware are reporting the same issue with 436.15
