Sorry but in my tests with a single 780 1080p the 4770k at 4.0 or 4.5 made hardly a difference on frame rates. So to call it cpu demanding is a stretch
I don't know if it's a gpu thing then, but for me even if I'm at 4.0 or 4.8 with my cpu I still get big slowdowns when for example I die while in a tank and it exlpodes, or when a jet crashes right next to me. Had the same thing in BF3...

Considering the many 120/144hz monitors out there, Oculus Rift coming, and other things like 3D gaming it makes perfect sense to me to test at 1080p with enthusiast level gear. Yes, some of us run at 2560x1440 or higher, but we are still a tiny minority and many are happy with 22/24/27" 1080p monitors with superfast refresh and low input lag, as opposed to slower 1440p IPS monitors.

Yes, it's available through the ingame console, Render.DrawScreenInfo 1 and variosu others through the perfoverlay.xxx like perfoverlay.drawgraph and so on. There's usage articles on it available. http://diaryofdennis.com/2013/12/14/list-of-useful-battlefield-4-console-commands/ for instance, but you can find more. There were some added in today's patch.

Now let us be clear here, amd has released an api that is faster than dx11 taken the fact that dx 11 is around for 4 years now and it had no major performance boost and mantle is only beginning i say that is a work well done.

From an actual company and an actual game which btw is bugged and wonky from the start dont forget that. And if these numbers are true mantle will be a godsend to gamers that don't have our uber setups. When u have in-game 130 fps do u really need 20 percent increase opposed to gamers that have 35+ fps

u are picking at straws here dice is not a troll company they just made a buggy game that is on their heads yes but i would not go as far as to put name Dice and EA in the same sentence to try to prove a point.

I could put up with the two-tone color but the suppression killed it for me. ive always been on the suppression train btw, I just laughed at the blue jokes /vids /pictures.

It really does seem to be neat for users with older PCs. I'm eager to see how well a Core 2 Quad and Phenom II X4/X6 will perform with Mantle

+1 to that, watta****. I'm totally disappointed. They promoted it as GCN ready for all cards all the way from the beginning. Major major let down lol. IT WORKS ON ALL GCN CARDS!!! .!:.1.1 -------> . . . "For now only works on newer R9 series cards" Dude seriously. How the **** can they promote it as being GCN ready for all, and then on launch it only supports 290/290x WTF??? How the **** do you do that lol. If it doesn't support the older GCN cards in the near future then they're scammers.
Just don't trust what companies say, man. Whatever capabilities are advertised on their products are pure theory until they're in working order in another product (read: game, production software, etc).

Because the biggest hype about Mantle has been about better CPU performance, and that uber rig was clearly CPU limited. Don't forget that Sli/CF with high-end GPUs often gain alot of performance by overclocking the CPU. The other two systems were too fairly balanced for showing big differences, the entry level PC was just using the integrated graphics, and the FX 8350 is able to feed the HD 7970 quite well in BF4
