if they didn't want people to freak out they should have just teased diablo 4 like bethesda did with elder scrolls vi. instead they just fueled a dumpster fire.

Honestly, I am not sure if Diablo 4 was on the cards at all for them. Diablo 3 has not been supported for ages, and cash based auction house was not the best long term idea. Clearly activision is chasing the moolah, so in the absence of being able to easily monetise it themselves, looks like they outsourced it to someone that could, would, and subsequently did. Not surprised fans are pissed tbh. Ripping apart one of the great pc gaming legacies with surprisingly few titles needed to get there. If they actually release Diablo 4, I hope it is better than just an afterthought

After Diablo 3 i no longer care much about the series. The game was good but Path of Exile is so much better for me so the promise of a new Diablo means little for me.

This is why companies like Bethesda and Epic "smash it" and others fail miserably. Seriously, I thought 2018 was the start of true multi-platform gaming, but, somehow Blizzard ended-up taking a step backwards.

After Diablo 3 I have zero expectations for Diablo 4. If it's not hot garbage, that runs like ass, and uses literally 10 year old graphics, then I'll be pleasantly surprised. Diablo 3 is literally the biggest video game disappointment of all time to me. Diablo 3 was nothing like 2 which what gave the name its fame. To not be shit IMO D4 would have to be a reboot essentially that returns all the past classes and expands and enhances the systems of D2, and is no way related to D3. But we all know that's not going to happen.

Can we please stop spreading rumours based on nothing? Diablo 4 will be real when it's announced. We're basing this thread on a speculation from a dodgy source (Kotaku). A source that has been corrected by Kotaku themselves now.

Was a big fan of d1 and d2 but when the rl money auction house for d3 got anounced i just dropped it like a hot potato and paid for early acccess to poe ...pretty much after that i return to it in almost every league for 1-2 months ... delve was awesome too! Diablo after poe seems reaĺy simple That said poe is not simple for the new commers at all i can not imagine playing on it with out poe.trade, loot filter and the third party program path of building

There's nothing really difficult about PoE. Anyone with zero experience can jump in and follow a guide and do end game, no problem. Also, 80%+ of the passive tree is stats (health, mana, health regen, mana regen, main stats etc) so nothing all that exciting there.

Yeah the last 2 major updates if you want to call the addition of the Necromancer a major update and Reaper of Souls with the addition of the post story mode content. They haven't really added any more and Diablo 3 just got blander and blander and not worth playing anymore. Also another major issue with Diablo 3 was that your skill set of your particular character was built around a specific set which made it less deep vs Diablo 2 where you didn't need a completed set in order for you to pick skills for.

Sure but it can't compare with d3 ...diablo 3 , still is fun to play around with builds either making one from scratch or altering others ...most people at the start can't tell the diference between moe dmg and increased damage mind you that also the plauers that actually kill shaper are less than 10%!

like... all you have to do is follow a guide and if you can't kill shaper, you shouldn't be playing the game. There's no challenge in killing shaper lol.

Shaper is not hard if your build and your gear is up for the task. What was the first league i killed ahapper ...hmmm i think essence ....after that i do it on every league . [youtube=L3jiJjf1dMo] Here is me on this league ... ...also your argument is kind of toooo generic ...sure you can learn how to become a chef follow the recipe, you can learn gow to make a washing machine just follow the schematic .... i have a feeling you are trying to compare in complexity d3 with poe ..... not even close ...also i do not claim poe is hard ...but sure takes a lot more time than d3

As already stated by someone, DON"T BELIEVE A WORD ON THAT ARTICLE. Its all bullshit. I've been hearing about "Diablo 4" announcement since 2015 Blizzcon. Before each blizzcon, someone goes out there fabricating articles saying there will be a D4 annoucement. Heck, even Blizzard denied a D4 announcement weeks before of this year Blizzcon, and people still think they will contradict themselves? They aren't a group of fresh graduates from college in their garages trolling their fans and getting away with it, believe it or not they are a serious business who needs to respect their shareholders first. Diablo 3, like it or not, is still fresh and can still be "milked". The Diablo franchise is not like Call of Duty who churns out a new game every year, and Blizzard were very famous to take a VERY LONG time to release something new. Diablo 4 will surely come, they are probably developing parts of it but it is treated like a secret project, they won't announce it until they can surely hit the deadline so they won't anger fans and shareholders by endlessly postponing the project due to various reasons. Also, the developers must have a NDA clause in their contracts, if they spill the beans they will get sued to death and its game over for their career in the big corporations, there is a lot to lose and nothing to be gained by sharing information to random game journalists, why would they risk their life/career? Think about it for a second. So it's very dubious when someone writes an article stating they had information from TWO devleopers/game directors sharing things that is treated like a secret. BULLSHIT.

Hmmm If it didn't get announced at Blizzcon I'd say there's a reason....like it's NOT actually happening. If it's anything like D3, no thanks anyway. If it was D2 with better graphics then hell yes
warlord:

Impossible. D3 will still be more profitable, due to being a dual game. And it is for years out from standard to collectors editions, meanwhile, it can be played on all consoles now. They only want more money without effort. That's mobile gaming. They use their franchise to milk the cow.
Umm no. That is not 'mobile gaming'. Mobile gaming refers to games on smartphones and tablets.

Did anyone calling immortal an abomination pay any attention to the actual work produced? For any d2 fans that bemoaned the loss of diablo's dark edge... There seems to have been much sweat and hard work adding a bit of that edge back in. And with a seeminglybnoticable bump in overall graphic quality compared to what I remember of D3! Or maybe I am just tickled that a mobile experience can achieve such a level in today's hardware? Seems kinda jaded not to acknowledge that experience on mobile is possible. ( everything is amazing and no one cares )

^^I don't think that Diablo being on a phone here was really the issue, but rather Blizzard seems to have thought that it was agood idea to sell this mobile game to their predominantly fervert loyal diablo gaming PC fanbase, at a conn that is attended by mostly their predominantly fervert loyal diablo gaming PC fanbase, and of course it did not help that they seemed to be selling it to them on a level and attitude that MS did with the launch of the Xbox one, i mean really, "do you guys not have phones", which will go down in history next to "Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity: it's called Xbox 360". lol
