And cracked again... Apparently another a group called CONSPIR4CY cracked "Ride of the Tomb Raider". this time seemingly bypassing Denuvo completely. I wonder how long this is going to work...

This is correct. Not a bypass either, so it can't/won't be fixed this time.

He was the biggest star of our nation for a few days, and he said to enjoy it while it lasted 🙂 I do certainly think that declining hardware sales are very much connected to the cracked games. Probably half the world cannot afford to buy new games, so no cracked games - no play of said games - no need of any new hardware.

I hate Denuvo and other such DRMs and "copy protection" mechanics so much, because it likes to deactivate my games for 24 hours after I simply change some BIOS settings, pop in a new video card, etc.. Intrusive DRM like this is bad and only hurts legit customers while pirates still have their fun no matter what. Thus I'm glad it has been cracked and hope publishers will soon see the light (although that's doubtful). I purchased a game (not sure which DRM/copy protection it uses) the other week and it would crash right at startup. Guess was customer service's suggestion was after everything else failed? Download and install a crack. With the crack, the game works. Crazy. I'd like to see all games become DRM free or go back to manual-based validation solutions, like the good old Dial-a-Pirate, Mix'n'Mojo, etc.. At least those were fun to use. 🙂

Can confirme that. Don't think they can fix that for that game (and propably more to come recent games). The questions is can they prevent this in future releases?

Good games don't need that stuff. Witcher 3 is DRM free and still is selling great 🙂 Crapy games that need extra protection :P

I guess pirates can finally be happy again since they can download the games for free again of which they never purchased. Nothing like to demo a game till the very end and say nahh it wasnt worth it.

omagic is right. I'm from Croatia, where average monthly salary is 400-500$, and no one here buys games. Everyone is playing "cracked" games. But when i was reading some interview with some guy that made Witcher 3, and he said best thing ever. If someone thinks that we're deserved to be paid, he will pay to us. Everyone else can play Witcher to, its DRM free. The same second i have read this, i bought game. I tried to play version from torrent, i saw what a fantastic game this is, and i bought it. That is case with a lot of other games. I bought every assassins creed game, because i like it, i bought every Civilization game, because i like it, but i don't want to pay for example 60€ for COD and play single player campaign for 8 hours, and thats it. Sorry for my english, i hope You have understood what i meant.

Too many variables nowadays from distribution to security, what happened to buying a game and owning it and playing it? Consumers should stand up against toxic restrictions, they only do harm and are not done with the final consumer in mind oh no.

The way I see it is if you make a good game and you know it will sell like hot cakes, why bother with DRM software? Take CD Project red for example... They know they make awesome games so they don't even bother with DRM software. Yes no one can make a perfect game on launch, but that still doesn't mean you can't create a great game. The way I see games going forward is just make it free to download and play with some in app purchases. That is the best and easiest way to make good money on your game and not making the consumer feel like he is getting robbed.

Ongoing battle. They reported 600K gamers downloaded pirated version of the games in last 3 days. Madness...

Halo 2 for PC... The DRM completely deactivated my product key because I updated from Windows Vista to Windows 8... BEST DRM EVER... I believe the message was reached activation limit or something... I forget the exact wording but Microsoft suck poop.

Probably yes. When Arkham Knight was first released it was cracked, but after the huge update in oktober it hasn't been cracked. So I think It used a different version of Denuvo after that update, and that all versions need a different kind of crack (I don't really know of course, just speculating)

The crack scene groups CPY and CODEX combined powah and defeated the 3rd revision of the o-mighty Denuvo. Now they know what exactly needs to be done and every game under Denuvo's protection released up until this point will be cracked. However the employees working at denuvo probably got their hands on the crack already and are gonna prepare a 4th revision fixing up the exploits that were found in the previous revision. Its sad how this protection is made.. evolving n sh*t. smart though.

Is this still a Steam flaw (heard that was the weak link at one point) or would this mean Origin games. I personally had no issues with Denovu so this is bad news for me, as who knows what will succeed this.

So many wasted manpower and time battling the pirates instead of improving on the actuall games. Witcher 3 showed how no DRM can still be more successful than all of those Denuvo protected games.

Won't be manpower, it would be an outlay that only the PC version has. Arguable that that comes out the development budget though. Assuming that Denovu games sell well though, as they are persevering with using it.

IMO Anti-Piracy measures are a waste of money/time/resources Anyone who pirates was never going to buy it anyway, so why stop them? It's not increasing sales IMO

Not true. Pirated CiV V first but I liked it so I bought it with every DLC. Good game will sell well. It should be some rule that there must be a DEMO. That would stop devs making crapy games. Players aint stupid. EA learned and You can return any game U dont like. Plus If the game has good multiplayer it will also sell well.
