I was surprised too. There were some really sweet deals, and despite all of that, DayZ was top 1 all the time. I might check it out somewhere in the future.

759,000 unique player IDs as of this moment. It's a legitimate phenomenon...again. For all its flaws, it provides an experience like nothing else, and may actually be my favorite game ever.

I wont touch it unless there is a goty edition out (without bugs). hopefully all those people who bought it will give feedback to the devs which will help progression

Well there is a road map of things to do along with all the player feedback. Currently it's not really worth playing for fun, town have like 2-3 zombies (in the mod towns had like a hundred), loot doesn't respawn, zombies don't respawn etc. It's all very much WIP atm. But why GOTY? It doesn't mean anything.

DayZ brought me only boredom traversing empty wastes with nothing to do but looking through junk, and then annoyance by getting killed suddenly and with no warning. Day Z is built on Arma, which at least has the most frightening and uncanny sounds for near misses. Plus, the clumsy interface and relatively little info given to you really adds to the tension. The pacing IS weird, but it also emphasizes the times where things do go crazy. In DayZ you die from snipers because it is a ARMY SIMULATOR. you cant just go cross open fields and city's with 0% tactics. You will get killed.

I loved the mod, my favourite game of last year, bought the SA and I have to wonder wtf took them a year to make it? Ended up just going back to Epoch, I don't care about the whole new network structure, it was never a problem in the original Dayz, modders fixed it with white listed servers.

What I cannot understand is the horrendous performance of this game. Looking at the screen shot above I have no idea how the graffixs look that good and it actually being playable. I have everything mostly off and set to normal and it still bogs way down. It looks like crap, like a game from the 90's. The arma 2 mod ran 10x better too.

I have to say this is one of the best games i have ever played in all the years i have been gaming. There is no game out there that can rival this game for its immersion and the feel you get from playing it. Saying that i have uninstalled the game now because some of the bugs are heart breaking. Non whitelisted servers will wipe your char if you join one, you cannot tell which servers are whitelisted. Its happened to me 3 times now were ive lost

3 times ive lost my char cause of these **** server bugs. Annoying as hell when you spend hours looting and have some of the best gear. Also you can spawn in the debug plains which is a nightmare bug and terrible to get out from which i did manage. Once i got out i was at the north coast and trekked all the way down to the south where my friends were. Then whitelisted server bug wiped my char after all off that. I put 32 hours into this game in three days but wont be playing anymore until its beta. I its is in pre alpha tm. Good to play to see what its like but not to play seiously. Im typing on a phone so thats why double posted

Not really, it's worse now... The Zombies aren't there because the servers cannot handle them, the A.I is **** on them and instead of saying "there are zombies, there must be people", it has just changed to "there are no zombies, there are people here as they killed them" and zombies don't respawn either because servers cannot handle it, just like no loot spawning. It is worse and FPS isn't even higher by this being done. Like I said White listed servers sorted the hacker problem.

Remember the game is pre alpha and lots of the bugs will be sorted out. Ive spoken to a team of seasoned dayz arma 2 mod players,some with over 1000 hours and they all said they alpha is already 10 times better than the mod. The game will improve dramatically in time. Supposed to be a new update coming very soon.
