So with... hold on I need both hands to count here... 2... 3... add the 5... plus 3... ...so yeah, with exactly zero good games why do I care what happens to Crytek. Crysis was a thing and it was a mind bendingly average thing beneath all the fancy graphics which some how managed to become even more average with each and every sequel.

I liked cysis it was actual the first fps game in long time (despite it have that regen health bs system) i liked followed by warhead everything else was down. 2 and 3 where complete let downs for me they decided consoles version came first and pc last, crysis 2 came out only support dx9 months later gota half assed dx11 patch. cysis 3 same crap that happens in 2 happend in 3 only to less extent. But then i could say the same thing about HALO and bungie HALO was indevelopt for mac/PC for what 3+ years? BEFORE MS got there hand on it made only for console and 3 years after it luanched on xbox? we later got terrible port of halo and was completely pissed off at the pc version. Companies that where pc only then go consoles and forget about the people that made then i pretty much give up on. Oni and myth games where last games i ever bought from bungie, played halo on xbox didnt care for it nice story though, fps games dont play good with controllers. that and it ushered in the age is REGEN your health behind wall BS ruin the strategy part of all fps cause they almost all use it now. So i dont really care if they go under or not, it would suck for the job loses but, but your should never bite the hand that feeds you or for that mater made you. in favor of quick buck.

Would be shame but none of their games were good, not even crysis 1. it was one of the worst game i ever played, just a GPU benchmark and that all.

I agree to point, but I still enjoyed the games. Either way this does not bother me. Their engine was amazing though, as other developers have put it to good use. I just hope whatever happens to Crytek, their engine is still alive and kicking somewhere else. Even if they change the name or keep it as a reminder. They supposedly shot down this rumor though, who knows.

They not long signed up to Mantle either.

I didn't mind Crysis 1 or Warhead the other 2 are pretty boring. I'm sure EA will buy them out and sack the employees Time for the yearly Crysis game at £59.99 each 😛uke2:

Sad news. For me, Crytek have done 2 of the best FPS so far (Far Cry1 and Crysis1) but they went downhill the moment they deserted to the consoles camp. It´s funny, they started making games for consoles because they said that was the only way to grow and to survive in the long term and now they face bankruptcy because of the same consoles... Irony is a bitch!...

It is a shame because they are talented people, for a game like Crysis 1 to come out in 2007 and to even run on machines back then was a feat in it self. Sure performance was around the 30fps more for most people at highest settings but still nothing and I mean NOTHING had looked so real and go good before it. But it was such a massive flop sales wise (most people just pirated the game) that they seriously needed cash and quickly. This is why they focused on consoles for the sequel and sold out to EA who brought a lot of their shares after Crysis 1 came out. Crysis 2 did well and they were in the green again, then came Crysis 3 and it was such a big pile of poo that I believe that that game alone probably put them in the red. It was just Crysis 2 with a few tweaks and some terrible level design and that story... omfg it was bad! I also believe this is why the F2P shooter Warface was delayed for so long because of cash flow and I think that game has made them next to no money as its pretty dead. Now Ryse... and OMFG what a shambles, apart from some "DECENT" graphics, I have seen it in motion my self on a 55" plasma and it really is nothing special at all. Combat is boring, repetitive, and the story again is very weak. It just cries desperation when they turn to consoles to save them... it doesn't work, they turn to free to play... it doesn't work... they sign an exclusive deal on consoles... it doesn't work.... They release their engine for cheap (£6.99 on steam).... no one cares and it doesn't work.... They really need to hire some good writers and level designers, or their next game... (if there is one) is doomed before it is even out!

CPC RedDawn, i was under the impression that the first Crysis was a successful game in financial terms. If i´m not mistaken they sold more than 3 million copies of Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead. The problem is that this success alerted the sharkes (EA) and those sharkes invested on Crytek and force them to turn to consoles, hoping to capitalize on the success of the original Crysis and turning it into a franchise like COD... And then thing went like we know... I´m right or wrong on this aspect???

Blame Mike Read. He's a man who fluked his way into the games industry and is akin to a Hollywood studio executive who was born with sunglasses on. He failed upwards, some people do; now he's bought down an entire company due to mismanagement. No doubt he'll survive somehow, even though he has no discernible talent.

Then what about Homefront 2?

What the hell? For me Crysis 1 is the best game of the saga.
To each and their own, it was released next to UT3 and COD4, COD4 is light years above any crysis game at all parameters besides graphic and might be sound.

While I'm not a big fan of Crysis 2 and 3, I loved the first game and it would be pretty sad news to close any chance of future games... that being said, I don't think Crytek cared much for PC anymore, so I'm not sure it's THAT big of a loss.

I don't care what other say, but i enjoyed Crysis 1 and Warhead, well until aliens, just like Far Cry until mutants 🙂 2 and 3 are meh for me, not terrible, but i don't care about them.

Who? The crytek that doesn't care about PC anymore? Don't care about them.

Good riddance. They haven't done anything worthy of note since the original Crysis, which, admittedly, was an amazing game (for a FPS) that I still occasionally revisit nearly 7 years later.

I don't care what happens so long as EA doesn't somehow benefit from this. Personally I agree with Moab, their games sucked. I didn't even enjoy Crysis 1, the moment I found the plot had finally become interesting the game ended.

Ahahaha, you know, now that you mention it, you're right. I remember when I first got to that point I was like "alright! let's go!! come on!" and then it ended leaving me staring at the screen in bewilderment and disappointment.

The low gravity mission in Crysis 1 was terrible.
