this is a slam-dunk i have both P 5 and P 3 M.2 drives to have a 7500 r/w drive at this price - usually where speeds are 1/2 of this - is just amazing, plus the heatsink is an $10-15 value toss in

Same here. P5 Plus 2TB for Games & OS P3 Plus 2TB for Live Storage P3 Plus 4TB for System Back-ups For offline back-ups i have bunch of USB 2,5 Inch HDDs 🙂

for as little as $129, that's 6-7 cents per GB, closing in and even surpassing HDD pricing.
how is that? for price of 2tb sdd nvme you can 8tb hdd sata ssd arnt much better, compared to prior sata/nvme sdd price it is much lower but closing in or even supasing HDD pricing it not, it not even close

Rocket NVME 4.0 8TB NVME is $999. What is this dude on about lol. You can get a 16GB mech for less then a 8TB Sata SSD. Over the past 2 years I have bought 2 4TB SSD and one was $435 in 2021, and the other was $229 in 2023.

Cheap compared to SSD when they first came out they are comparable to HDD prices per tb .. we been promised those HDD price for more then decade now. . 2 TB is not cheap at 100$ neither is 4tb at almost 400$ alot case is not either. Cheap compared to SSD original prices. not comparable to HDD price per TB, which what my original statement was. reading must be past time around or selective reading BTW alot people still use hdd cause of those prices

this is a generational divide as well as a bellweather of gadget-freakism. i'm a hardcore gadget freak. but for younger folks the questions about hdd basically boils down to why. why bother with a physicallly large device that is far more prone to failure, needs regular maintenance (defrag), greater attention to cooling, and is far noisier? sure you get greater volume capacity at lower prices, but you also have a tiny fraction of r/w speeds and loading times. tldr; old habits die hard but fwiw, i've run NAS since the 90's and went to RAID back when you needed an add-in card. now i have nvme NAS w/ zero maintenance and i'm never going back

I've convinced friends that if they want to build a nice gaming PC, now is the time. Everything is cheap here in the U.S. and one can even find decent deals with some video cards. Motherboards, memory, processors, power supplies, cases, coolers you name it. I'm not sure what the pc part prices are overseas but I hope things have gotten better. Right now a very nice gaming PC with a 12gb 6750XT, 12600kf, 32gb DDR4 3600, MSI motherboard with case and power supply can be assembled for less than $800.00 U.S. for those that are able. This is with a combination of open boxed items at Microcenter and online vendors. The open box items here still have a warranty and are usually quick returns from buyers remorse. Less than 1 year ago those specifications would easily cost you over $2000. Don't even mention 2 years ago. ***EDIT*** I forgot to mention that includes a 2tb Nvme M.2 drive as well. Not bad for a little less than $800.00.

I agree man. I just finished reading the review and this is a very nice drive+heatsink. I might go this route.

I just adding and reinforcing your statement. I love that sata SSD prices have dropped. Now you can get a 4TB sata SSD for $175 on amazon right now....... Im just waiting for a cheap 4TB nvme for mini rig. I have to have a 1TB sata SSD stuff in it besides the m.2 sata 256gb for OS. The case has no spot for a SSD. Its behind the PSU lol

yeah don't hold your breath on the 4Tb dropping like the 2Tb's, it's still a premium item my gaming rig (itx) has 2 x 2Tb pcie 4.0 which together cost less than half that of a 4 Tb

Guess Ill wait longer lol. I didnt even get to have my first SSD until 2014 when I bought a intel 320 120gb for $50 used. I hate having my games on my OS drive as well but with the mini rig I might just deal with it and get a 2TB for now. The board is a B450 itx so Im not worried about a newer 4.0 or 5.0 drive.
