Their longevity is Amazing ( I mean Corsair PSU's in general, not this exact model since I dont own it ). Im on a 1000W Corsair PSU OCZ/ZX since 2012. Im getting kinda scared that it will some day fail but its still doing fine, ive only dusted it out several times but goddamn money well spend back then. It was also the first time where I didn't gimp out on getting a cheap PSU. I'm Still on a 970gtx,ive only upgraded mobo and cpu and ssd etc since then. It's this one I own I believe; https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/277051/ocz-zx-1000w/specificaties/

I'm kind of ashamed to tell you how old my PSU is...:D Solid 1000w ....steady voltage across 3.5/5.0/12/v under load.

The warranty is good but somehow I caused a HX1000 Corsair to pop a few years ago. Didn't trust the replacement I got under warranty after the experience so sold it and went Asus ROG.

I'm on a Corsair RM1000i for over 7 years, good stuff. RMA wise Corsair was always great with me (even replaced a K95 that died over a year after the warranty expired), so I do trust their warranties.

Corsair is one of the best made psu's i've ever owned since the 80's i'm in no way exclusive to them and i'm somewhat goggle-eyed at the "return" of 1500w psus it makes me remember 3 way SLI and a ton of hdds and w/c equipment. i guess if you're running a 4090, 13900k, and a chiller to OC the bejeezus out of them it makes sense

Does a PS need to be PCIE5 compliant, or would my Seasonic Prime Titanium be fine, for example?

I don't even want to think about 1500w with today's electric prices. Lucky theres no sli on 4090s as having two of them would probably need a 1500w PSU and running them would drain the electric fast.

I had a GTX 480 TRI full water-cooled gaming PC a while ago and the Corsair 1200w was enough. I use a maximum of 780w with a i7 10700K (in standard clock) with a Corsair LCD Elite AIO 360 + Suprim X 4090 with an Asus Thor II Platinum 1200w and these high quality PSU's always produce more than the power rating at reviews.

Their warranties are great except for their water cooling stuff. Ive been burned by them with their pump/res combo. Been on a $30 chinese pump/res since then for over a year and it still works using the same coolant. Both pump/res combos from corsair burned up. Still have the emails about it too. Ive only had a 16GB 3000 LPX kit die, they replaced it easily under warranty back in 2019. Only non W/C stuff I have had from corsair ever die. I have a HX1000 in my threadripper, its nearly 15 years old!, going strong. Have a RM1000i in my main rig, 5 years old, going strong, and my RM 850 I had is 5 years old going strong and in my friends rig now. No idea on my load wattage, I need to get something to see it. 5800x3d -30 UV, 4450mhz, 32GB 3733 CL16, 6800XT, overclocked 2550,2125, 2 360 rads, 7 120MM LED fans, LED CPU block, Some cheap pump/res combo, about to add a 2nd pump lol for faster flow, 2 4TB SSD, 8TB, and plenty of USB devices. Most of the time, the fan on my PSU doesnt even turn on.

While I like Corsair's PSUs, this is more what I would call "ATX 3.0 Ready." The spec may not require the 12VHPWR connector to exist on the PSU itself and that's fine...for now. Those communication channels will be important in later generations as power delivery to these components get more and more difficult to manage.
