don't care about MT for gaming but if that ST score translates into fps on cpu bottlenecked games I might have to go back to Intel for gaming this might give 6900xt and 3090 a boost too as those cards are almost too fast for our cpus
I suspect Intel will take the lead but there will be a hefty DDR5 premium to pay at least for the first 6 months or so. Since AMD's v-cache should be landing soon after I would wait and see how that turns out. If someone doesn't really have to upgrade I would wait for Zen4. When Zen4 lands DDR5 pricing and performance should be improved and Zen4 should be a beast. We just saw how good TSMC's 5nm node is with Apples M1 Max so I expect big things from Zen4, bigger than most are assuming.

I ordered g.skill DDR5 5600 2x16. 3700 nok (Norwegian Kroner) Same price as g.skill 4000c19 2x16GB DDR4 🙂 Is this overpriced DDR 5? Looks almost cheap to me, compared to old ddr4...

The pricing on these CPUs looks very good. Looks like they decided to compete on price after all. Zen3D will be DOA if AMD can't match this.

I suppose it depends on how you look at it 🙂 That doesn't sound too bad but g.skill 4000 stuff isn't cheap. If you can get latency to figure out what comparable perf to DDR4 it probably will be more in line with DDR4-3200 CAS 14.

Looks like 3200c14 2x16. If so 3200c14 is 1000nok cheaper 🙂

Funny how an i5 makes 5800x irrelevant, not to mention 5600x (direct competitor) All good 🙂
No, it makes the 5800x irrelevant for people who are ready to replace their entire CPU/motherboard/RAM combo. For people who are not quite at that point and have a motherboard that supports Zen 3 CPU's, but are still at a earlier series CPU, they still are relevant. And with this added competition from Intel, the prices for the Zen 3 CPU's might come down, making them even more attractive for upgraders on a budget. Not everybody has the resources or even the will to replace the complete innards of their PC every time the Next Big thing is introduced!

If 12600KF at $264 is better than 5800x you can imagine.
if it's true then r5000 owners will be just rekt overpaid for r5000, then get undercut by 12th gen.5800x was 420-430eur,even as high as 450eur at times.Imagine buying it early this year and in q3 there's a better one for 270.

If announced price is valid, you can get a 12600kf and a budget motherboard for the price of a 5800x, at least till AMD will cut those prices in half (hopefully)
You forgot to factor in the price of new RAM sticks. Or are you going to hamstring the 12600kf with DDR4?

DDR 5 is almost the same price as DDR 4 🙂 Atleast here in Norway.
