Can someone please tell me at what point consoles outperformed PC hardware? - i knew the article was utter rubbish when i got to that statement.

I'm not entirely sure but I think the 360 GPU was for a bit. The PS3 came close but I remember nvidia saying they'd have a faster PC GPU by the time the PS3 shipped and they did with the 8800GTX. Edit : Nvm 360 had first unified but I think it's slower than 7900 and X1950.

My biggest question is why console gamers arent interested in pc games? If they have pc too then they must care on high quality gaming experience naming from resolution to high textures and other stuff..

Why? Most people want to come home from work relax on a couch and shoot some stuff up in COD or score a few points in Madden. Aside from a few of my friends the vast majority of people I know don't care much about graphics or even know what textures are. My brother in law for example has a Xbox One and talks about how the graphics are better than his 360 but he can't explain why other then "looks more detailed". He plays the console maybe 2 hours a week.

from the other side, top-of-the-range PC hardware is now outperforming console hardware – so really hardcore gamers looking for the best in class gaming experience (at least from a a graphical fidelity/frame-rate point of view) are actually better off with a high end gaming PC than the current console flagships.

I couldn't really care less what happens to Sony and Microsoft but I kind of want Nintendo to succeed because they tend to offer something a little bit different.

The PS4's being the more powerful has how many Radeon 6K/7K series shaders? 1152 was it? Xbone's was 768? And the Wii U, lol, please. So yeah, I guess I was mistaken, I kept thinking more towards high end hardware, all of them combined can match a mid range PC in GPU power.

No crisis here...btw when i saw prices of xbone and ps4 in most lithuania stores - 800USD i thought that they went crazy. So sales in lt shouldn't be good. Games cost 1/5 - 1/4 of minimum salary in lithuania. So many Lithuanians can't even afford it. Just for information:)

My only comment on this current gen is that it's dumb how developers are still releasing games on the previous gen. That and the Xbone can **** off.

PS3 will be discontinued Q4 2014, while xbox360 will be milked until 2016.

The techcrunch article is garbage. It really is. They just took a random month and decided to compare it to some other month? In 2007 the 360 and Wii were out for nearly a year. Twilight Princess came out a month before on the Wii heavily boosting sales, I know like 5 people alone that bought a Wii just for that game. How can you compare these two months and possibly form a valid conclusion? Lol... Also PC sales throughout 2013 were down, why is there no mention of this? Meh.

I'm seeing this sort of garbage ”journalism” too often these days, but they know fine well most people are to lazy to read the whole thing never mind check to see if what is stated is actually happening. If the sales figures are correct then there is no crisis, not even close. Both consoles are selling really well considering the lack of quantity and quality when it comes to actual games, even the Xbox is selling amazingly well considering its overpriced and has been subject to a year worth of bad press. Once the catalogue has increased and the price had decreased both consoles will be selling better than ever. Edit: Anything official from Sony? It would be idiotic if the PS3 was anything other than years away from EOL, it would be financial suicide for them, not to mention how hugely unpopular such a move would make Sony.

If you look at what games are coming out for the new consoles in a couple of months time, it's going to be hard to find anything at all. Even the PS4 adverts promote games in October, which is slightly worrying. There seems to be huge gaps where no games are being released at all.

So even worse, more crappy gfx in the near future. btw, I stumbled upon that wiki when I was checking how consoles hardware progressed through the years and then I saw this discontinued part, was actually shocked and happy at the same time.
