once more games arrive for the next-gen much more folks will join the bandwagon.
though folks are already going for them as far as I can see, titanfall has all the xbone owners I know excited so that's great news and they like bf4 too.

My only comment on this current gen is that it's dumb how developers are still releasing games on the previous gen. That and the Xbone can **** off.

As someone else has already pointed out, many console games have been adapted to run on a smartphone with reasonable specs, and a smartphone can be placed in your pocket. 🙂

I still think the 3DS is the best system out right now. I just got A Link Between Worlds and it really is pretty decent. Not perfect, but pretty damn good.
Nintendo has issues, but they still can make a console and game.

Pretty sure Microsoft plays part in this aswell with their selective release.

In my opinion, console sales are not that important, especially for the previous generation. Manufacturers don't really earn money by selling them, but by selling licenses. Such console, as a device, is an investment. MS and Sony want to get the money back with game sales.
Effectively, as games are sold in greater and greater numbers, but the rate of console sales is decreasing, the number of games per console increases, and maximizes the profit. Of course, manufacturers still want people to buy consoles, to reach greater audience for selling games, but super-casual gamers aren't profitable. On the other hand, does spending a lot of time on web games still count as casual gaming?

Tbh I bought a ps4 and one game killzone, but since having ps+ for over a year I havent bought any games infact im overloaded with games on my ps3 ps4 and vita, im not sure how they make money out of it and thats one reason im not buying games.

I've looked all over the island in Crysis and couldn't find a console market anywhere.

It's ok they didnt spend as much as the previous generations. Not like it matters much but they went extra cheap both products cant produce proper 1080p so in years when 4 times that resolution becomes mainstream they are probably thinking in next generation already.

The techcrunch article is garbage. It really is. They just took a random month and decided to compare it to some other month? In 2007 the 360 and Wii were out for nearly a year. Twilight Princess came out a month before on the Wii heavily boosting sales, I know like 5 people alone that bought a Wii just for that game. How can you compare these two months and possibly form a valid conclusion? Lol... Also PC sales throughout 2013 were down, why is there no mention of this?
Meh.

Would probably help if the games werent £50.

PS4 is selling more than ps3/xbox360/wii when they launched, aswell as wiiU and xboxone. I don't see any crisis.

Still love to play Crash Team Racing on my little grey Playstation!
That was the very first game I ever saw being played on one, and I was instantly hooked.
Must admit, though, that I'm easily amused. 🙂
