let's post something useful for people interested in threadripper water cooling : - initially had a Corsair XC9 on my 3960x it's a cooler designed for Intel sized cpus not AMD but it's compatible, the only difference between it and the XC7 are the number of fins (more) while the cooling wasn't bad it only covered the center of the cpu lid and not the top and bottom - recently upgraded to an heatkiller IV pro block which is as large as the cpu lid and has by eye double the fins and fin area I gained 5-7°C under aida64 stress test and the cpu is generally cooler which in turn slightly improve overall liquid temp (air bubbles quickly left the block contrary to the corsair one where they take a very long time to disappear) previous gens threadripper block comparison I don't know if it's still up to date but I can say the heatkiller pro still works very well even with weak static pressure corsair QL fans in pull mode (not optimal at all for a radiator) https://www.xtremerigs.net/2018/08/29/amd-threadripper-cpu-block-review-round-up/11/
