Another difference between this and the old Swift, as far as I can tell, is that this new monitor is not 3D Vision ready. Considering the old Swift is one of the best 3D Vision monitors out there, that they seem to be dropping support for 3D Vision is seriously sad news for some of us.
3D Vision isn't really marketed anymore. I'm surprised Nvidia is actually still supporting it. When it works its great though.

I can't believe TN panels are still a thing, I'd go for the Asus PG279Q over this any day of the week.

$700 and that is ok cuz gamerz? Please would u like me to bend over to make the process easier? ๐Ÿ™‚ I claim they are out of touch. Or their research knows how stupid I actually am.
and why is that a problem? did they put a gun to your head and forced you to buy it? a company offers a product at a certain price, and you can buy it, or not. or are you one of those guys standing in front of a porsche/ferrari dealership, holding a sign that their prices are out of touch?!

5-6"? Geez, I can't even see the edges of my screen at 6" lol
For me with my display at about 6" I have an extra 6~8" of peripheral vision beyond the sides of the display. ๐Ÿ˜€ I guess it depends on how sensitive your peripheral vision is. When I first went to 27" from 22" It felt huge! Took a few weeks for my eyes to adjust to the extra viewing space. But now it feels about the right size for me.

It does have 3D Vision. It's an upgrade of the old PG278Q.
So what's the difference between this and PG278Q not-R?
It has the new G-SYNC module with HDMI and a scaler, so it can accept 1920x1080 input from a console. The old model only accepted 2560x1440 so you could not use it with a console even with an active HDMI to DisplayPort converter unless it was one of the few, expensive converters with a built-in 1920x1080 to 2560x1440 scaler like the Atlona AT-HD620.
