Okay. I guess the main reason to buy this is, because you can better clean it, right?

...and at 99.99 USD is so cheap - I'll buy fifty just to show off:p Now seriously...are we crazy or what? One hundred bucks for a mouse pad??? So what if it is made from glass - it also works like a magic mirror that tells me every day how handsome am I?

I spent that much money on my Logitech Powerplay Mousepad but then it does keep my Mouse permanently charged but hey this ones made of glass!

@barbacot and? ppl tend to get things they like, when they have the funds for it. no one goes and buys a 50K 4-door, when they actually want (and can pay for) a +300K Bentley, just because that car is "overpriced" vs the 50K car (you get "their" at the same time in both cars, obeying speed limits) i would love to have non fabric pad, if they made one that's at least 1.5m x 0.6, as i want KB etc on the same "level. wouldnt have to worry about spilling fluids, and even dust/dirt would be easier to deal with, by just wiping it down with a microfiber.

Wasn't it not too long ago that glass and mouse sensors didn't mix well... and @fry178 you sound like your avatar an out of touch old man, justifying excess, your idiocracy matches the state of the world, a mess that has gone down the wrong path for so long that you don't even understand the words coming out of your mouth, instead you add to and consider it normal. Thank the world this forum still has an ignore option for users like you.

@floppyedonkey never stated to the contrary, and actually had owned 5 "hard" mats incl one out of glass, and no issues with the mouse ( i dont buy razer) but thanks for acting like any other sub 100 post person here, assuming stuff about ppl from reading one post/answer. since your talking about excess: how old is your phone/laptop/desktop? all are 10y or older? as anything newer isnt really needed for the basics of life. no, excess isnt normal for me, but there are many other things that have much worse impact on the planet, while being useless (outside the "i want to have it" folks), than this mouse pad, which wont even sell a million times. ignoring for a moment that it can be 100% recycled, doubt yours or those billions of plastic based mouse pad sold for a few bucks can be.

That's a big advantage, but the main purpose is the glide/feel. If you use a glass pad and any part of your skin is touching it, like how most people use a pad, you're going to want a sleeve for comfort. I'd rather go the other way around though. I use glass skates on my mouse, and a more traditional cloth pad. Because I don't touch my hand/wrist or forearm to the pad (I keep it on a wrist rest), the pad doesn't become caked with skin over time. That makes washing/maintaining it really easy.

Not really and apples to apples comparison. While the Bentley is overpriced, it actually has legitimate value. The materials are better, the ride quality is more comfortable, the sound experience (whether ambient or through the media system) is better, and there are a lot of hand-made parts. It makes a statement, and depending how much you drive it, it will only increase in value over time. Asus, meanwhile, is charging $100 for a piece of textured tempered glass that only you are going to see. It's not special but they charge you like it is. While I'm not saying a $5 mousepad that will get grubby and disintegrate in a year is a better choice, you can spend half the price on an alternative glass mousepad. Or better yet, just get a glass desk and put a film over it.

oh sure, but i just meant to show the Bentleys "value" is in the eye of the beholder, and like many things, wanted but not needed. i would never buy it, or any other (small) pad (compared to my "desk" sized one), but to say it differently: just because i dont want a pink bike, doesnt mean i will sour it for the ones that do, even if its overpriced.
