Nice, thanks for reviewing this, it mirrors the results with my 3yr old non RGB version, still in service and running great. At first I put it on my old 6700K system, replacing a silent homebrew water cooler with a car heatercore radiator and Eheim 1048 pond pump + 1/2" ID tube. This (expectedly) is better and let me overclock the CPU 200MHz higher while simultaneously getting my 3000c15 ram to 3733c17 ! Previously I could only max one or the other, never both, and at lower speeds than this. Now its on my 10700K with an all core overclock to 5.2GHz, AVX offset -1. Ram is an awkward bugger to overclock so reduced latency from 4000c19 to c17. Is still a speedy system for gaming with the LFII 420 cooler 🙂 Was a bargain at £115.

These coolers are much cheaper actually! ARGB € 110,99 https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/1785336/arctic-liquid-freezer-ii-420-a-rgb.html regular one € 108,97 https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/1639308/arctic-liquid-freezer-ii-420.html I use a 280 currently and I am really happy with it. For my next PC build I will get one of these 420's for sure!
Did you use a tower air cooler prior to the Arctic? Would you say there is a small/big difference in acoustics? My Dark Rock 4 Pro is whisper quiet and I'm reluctant to switch over to AIO due to more fans and higher fan speeds. A local store sold the 360mm non RGB version for ~87€ during BF which is really cheap and was so close to buying it.

No I have been using AIO for years , so i dont know really.

i really wish they would do a white aio but if i was running an Intel I-9 this would be my first choice

lol, my opinion too. But as its so small it matters little for CPU cooling. Its intended to help cool the CPUs VRM heatsinks when there are no CPU air cooler fans, a little airflow there is a good idea regardless of whether that fan is working.

Without question on an i9. i7 is also tough to cool when overclocking, this gives a bit more boost headroom for both unclocked and overclocked. The main issue is size but both my PCs are open air inside or under tables so I'd get a bigger one if they made it lol. It remains to be seen how much power 15th gen Arrow Lake CPUs will use. Being on a much smaller node the footprint of the main die will be a lot smaller so it could be just as hard to cool. But with it not being a monolithic die, the spread of different ICs under the lid should help a bit. I'm eager to see how well the 1st gen perform.

What indication do you have that this fan is going to break first? It has 6 years of warranty, so they would be loosing a lot of money if they used a bad quality fan.

If I was going to get an AiO, this would be the one that I would get. So far though I don't really seen an incentive to switch over to an AiO, given that the latest top end air coolers are so very good, plus much less prone to failure. Currently I have my 14900KF at 5.8ghz with HT disabled and a -75mV offset unlimited power but with a 90c temp limit and the temps are ridiculously good with a DeepCool Assassin IV housed in a Fractal Torrent RGB case.

Around 3 years ago I bought a bunch of case fans and a AIO from Arctic. Almost all fans, including the ones on the AIO (a 240) became noisy in a few months. I contacted them. got some new ones, and same thing happened. So I cant be bothered with Arctic anymore, they felt cheap and in the long run they were just that. But great customer service. Today there are so many options out there that there's no need to stay with a brand if it doesnt work out.

Sounds like a great combo 🙂

It is. For air cooling to be successful when it comes to taming a hot headed beast like the 14900KF, the entire system needs to be taken into account, including the air cooler, case and fan orientation. My gaming temps are usually in the 40s to low 50s for non CPU intensive titles, and in the mid 50s to mid 60s for more CPU intensive games. It finally got cold where I live so I shut off the central heating to the room where I keep my computer so the ambient temp is in the mid 60s. The only workloads that cause the temps to spike to are heavy encoding and shader compiling, but since I have the temp limit set to 90c, the CPU just throttles when it hits that temp.

Today, we are reviewing a 420 mm variant of an AIO cooler from the Arctic, Liquid Freezer II 420 ARGB. This time, it’s the biggest available version, and it will be checked on an AMD Ryzen 7900X and 13th-gen Intel i9 13900K (previously, it was i7 4790K and i9 9900K), so it’s an up-to-date setup. You seated it good ! you got the touch !

Only silver ? best cooler on the market , price is very good . Badge / score system in guru3d last year is very bad. Some bad products got "recommended"....
