Meh. 1024x768 on an 8" screen doesn't sound too impressive to me. My S3 has a resolution of 1280x720 on a 5" screen which is large enough to double up as a pseudo tablet IMO.

Assuming it has the A6 and 16gb+ storage it doesn't need to hit a $199 pricepoint. It's pretty obvious at this point that people are willing to spend extra money on an Apple product/Premium product, even in this economy. And honestly my 2 week old Nexus 7 has not been a terrific experience, at this point I'm debating selling it and waiting for something new.

The Ipad 3 is still arguably the best 10 inch tablet out. And considering there are lots of people that have been inside the Apple app ecosystem for some time, they may actually see the cost of switching to a cheaper tablet higher, due to having to repurchase a number of apps. The 7 inch space isn't any better. The Nexus 7, while praised for it's price, is a disaster when it comes to reliability. The Kindle HD and stuff, doesn't even run the full version of Android/no playstore. So I really don't see how people are "stupid" for buying Apple tablets.

Got to admit iPad is the best tablet i used! But if mini costs too much,it might not sell that well. same price as Nexus 7, it will sell tons!

^This. problem is going to be if the price it under the iPod touch then they will kill their own product line up i expect it to be price in between the iPod touch and the iPad.

I hope they've done something about the weight of these things. The iPad 3 is amazing and I'm even typing this on one but it is very "dense".

i own the Nexus 7 16gb version,have rooted it and and running Android 4.1.2......it's a great wee tablet and here anyways no problems with hardware 🙂 for mobile use, the Galaxy Note 1 does the bizz for me

Slightly underwhelming and not what i was expecting. The screen is 2inches smaller, but has went from 3,145,728 pixels to 786,432, unless this is priced really well i personally would choose the Nexus 7 instead. People saying those who buy Apple tablets are stupid clearly don't know what they are talking about, when it comes to tablets i have yet to see an Android one that comes near the iPad3 and i'm an Android fanboy.

I agree. The ipad's build quality (and i phone as well) is head and shoulders above any of the competition.
