SweetFX allows you to inject a suite of post processing effects into any DX9, 10, or 11 game (32 bit only). E.g. SweetFX is a universal image improvement and tweaking mod, that works with almost any 32bit DirectX 9, 10 or 11 game or application. It is completely and easily configurable via text file. SweetFX is a mod built on the InjectSMAA shader injector, that allows you to apply a suite of post processing shader effects to your games. Some amazing results can be achieved with this mod.

This months Guru3D Rig of the month, October 2012, build comes from Martijn Laman aka Meelobee. Martijn is from the Netherlands and he has been working on a project for a while now, it's not your average PC alright as it is a bare-bone exoskeleton slash inverted OC with visible components. It has to be the weirdest yet intriguing build you have seen to date, not everybody will like it but everybody will agree with one thing, this is very unique. He names his box Project Inverted.

DigiTimes learned from Taiwanese phone makers that demand for Windows Phone 8 devices it not expected to be strong: While Nokia, HTC and Samsung Electronics will launch Windows Phone 8 (WP8) devices beginning in November, in line with Microsoft unveiling the mobile operating system on October 29, market demand for such smartphones is not expected to be considerably large due to the time taken for consumers to learn the operating system and strong competition from iPhone and Android models, according to market watchers. 

ARM is talking about its Cortex-A50, a series of energy-efficient 64-bit processors that will become available in 2014. ARM announced the new ARM Cortex-A50 processor series based upon the ARMv8 architecture, extending ARM’s leadership in performance and low power. The series initially includes the Cortex-A53 and Cortex-A57 processors and introduces a new, energy-efficient 64-bit processing technology, as well as extending existing 32-bit processing. The scalability of the processor series enables ARM partners to create system-on-chips (SoCs) that address diverse markets, from smartphones through to high-performance servers.

IBM has just reached a new pretty significant milestone. They have created a new computer chip based on carbon nanotube technology that has more than 10,000 transistors. This is a far cry from the current generation of silicone-based microprocessors, but it does demonstrate a lot of potential for carbon nanotubes moving forward. As you might remember, carbon nanotubes are constructed with sheets of cabon that are just a single atom thick, rolling them into a cylinder.

Okay it is not really surprising, it has been revealed that Infinity Ward is currently working on the next instalment of the immensely popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise. Modern Warfare 4 is expected to be released next November. Bill Murray: "Yeah, on Monday I am off to meet Infinity Ward about the next game, Modern Warfare 4, I'm doing work on the sequel to Modern Warfare 3, it carries straight on and I only ever appear in the Modern Warfare games..."

AMD announced that it will design 64-bit ARM technology-based processors in addition to its x86 processors for multiple markets, starting with cloud and data center servers. AMD’s first ARM technology-based processor will be a highly-integrated, 64-bit multicore System-on-a-Chip (SoC) optimized for the dense, energy-efficient servers that now dominate the largest data centers and power the modern computing experience. The first ARM technology-based AMD Opteron™ processor is targeted for production in 2014 and will integrate the AMD SeaMicro Freedom™ supercompute fabric, the industry’s premier high-performance fabric.

MSI has announced the launch of its new-generation barebone PC system: the Hetis H61 series. This series uses the latest Intel H61 chipset, and support the 2nd Generation Intel Core Processor), the first processor of its kind to have the graphics processing unit (GPU) and CPU integrated onto the same chip, while also building a set of visual functions into the chip that ensure higher image quality when viewing video content or photos.

Intel launched the SSD 335 series, the company's first solid state disk line that uses 20nm MLC NAND flash memory from IMFT, a joint venture between Micron and Intel. The SSD 335 is a 6Gbps SATA SSD that is solely available with a capacity of 240GB. It's based on the SandForce SF-2281 controller and it's essentially the same as the SSD 330, but with 20nm NAND flash memory instead of 25nm.
