5900x3d would have been great.

5900X users could always upgrade to 5800X3D for gaming purposes.

Ryzen 9 5950X3D too, but for now there is not enough space on it 🙂 Also it's just a new cache, so we will have to see what it bring on the bench 🙂 because once the cache is stuck you have only a 5800X, it can be really good or only a few better... Don't take the hype highway right now. Hilbert will tell us when he will review the 3D version soon.

finally a sucessor to 3600 and 3700x i just hope they don't half the l3 cache though a 5600x is slower than 12400f which costs 175eur.If on top of that they lower the clock and half the cache then perf/price it would be pretty much the same as 5600x. that would mean it's basically a 5600G without the igpu, and that's about the same as 10400F

depends on your core needs, why would i downgrade cores.

Like he said, for gaming proposes. For gaming, games don't scale much beyond 6-8 cores. But they scale very well with increasing cache.

would rather keep the cores love.

If they cut the cache it would lower IPC which is no good for gaming at 1080p or 1440p. You can see most, not all, games hit GPU limit at 4K so lower resolution still needs MORE IPC. I like the 5700X price but cache reduction and less performance than ADL is not gonna cut it. We will need to see actual benchmarks but for hardcore gamers, it will be ADL with the lucky few getting the 5800X3D.

Wow only1 year late for the 5700x and 5600 and 5800 . I was expecting these models to come much much earlier .... It took so long I assumed those will not get released at all!

I´m thinking the same. This CPUs should have been released 6 months ago, releasing them now seems a little silly.

if they would release a 5900x3d or 5950x 3d i would upgrade my 5900x probably, but at this point i guess id rather get a 5950x than a 5800x3d to replace my 5900x

warzone does scale well with more cores, i think more and more big scale multiplayer games will score well with more cores

I went from 16 threads to 12 threads. Pure gaming rig. GPU bound 3440x1440. 2700x to 5600x. The IPC, clock speed, and gaming performance were absolutely worth it.

All these great gaming CPUs yet no GPUs to run them on…

Same resolution as you and I went from a 2700X to a 5800X last year, and even with keeping my RTX 2070 (so very much GPU bound), I noticed an improvement in frame times, not to mention a general speed-up in everything else like decompressing zip files and encoding.

Im still gonna keep my 2700X until there is 7800X with ddr5. Now thats a real upgrade.

5700x should be an awesome chip... No?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/163/163068.jpg
Well, last year it was either a new GPU with my 2700X... so as things panned out, I just got a 5800X, doubled my RAM, and new motherboard... Someone got my money, and it wasn't nVidia or scalpers.
