What a waste of effort. Just bring the motherboard to the nearest PC selling/fixing shop and pay some insignificant amount for a bios update. Can be solved on the spot, and the entire thing taking from 1 hr to just a few hours, travel included. Even people living in the middle of nowhere rural area still have some small city close enough, and that's probably a very rare case... in combination with this particular situation.
