Best results in the history of the company but since those creeps at wall street aren't satisfied with WoW and CoD numbers, let's fire 800 people and reward ourselves with millions of dollars in bonuses. Scummy company ...
I can't agree more.. These companies (EA, Blizzard-Activision, and way more) are just a greedy bunch of disgusting ca$h wh0res

Sad indeed.

FWIW they laid off a bunch of community outreach people with the intent of hiring more developers. They are projecting a 13% decrease in revenue due to lack of development over the next year. So they are reallocating the resources towards developing more games.

That's real life. If you don't meet your profit goals, the first to cut is your employees' numbers.

Of course, the hundreds of us who were considered temporary full-time employees did not receive any “perks” like free Aerosmith games, despite doing the same work as full-time regular employees, just at $9 an hour instead of $11.
Damn, 9 or 11$ especially in California. That's like working in McDonalds flipping burgers. I guess they should unionize, because company makes profits.

He was making $9 11 years ago, read the thing before you talk about unionising.

They didn't fire any devs at least. My guess is that the all-in move to esports didn't pan out as well as they thought. Now they're cutting fat. If it don't make dollars it don't make sense. It really sucks that they let go of community managers though. That really won't sit well with the fans.

11 years ago the minimum wage in California was 8$. https://www.dir.ca.gov/iwc/MinimumWageHistory.htm With a little bit of effort I'm sure you could make those 9$ flipping burgers. Also 11 years ago, Blzzard was still very profitable and they could afford to pay their staff more than just barely above minimum wage. https://investor.activision.com/static-files/3e686f44-d414-423e-bec3-62fffbc30320
In 2009, we delivered non-GAAP net revenues of $4.8 billion and non-GAAP earnings per diluted share of $0.69. On a GAAP basis, our net revenues were $4.3 billion and earnings per diluted share were $0.09. We ended the year with approximately $3.3 billion in cash and investments and no debt.
I'd say that unionising in this case is therefore quite logical, as company is making huge profit, while still paying nothing to the employees who make all of this possible.

The crash is real

Maybe this sounds weird but I'm glad that they're fired from this shitty company. I hope they're going to find better workplace with better management and we'll see in future good games instead of this crap made by Blizzard / Activison.

many blizzard fans said blame activision back 10years ago blizzard is like western game-developer king those warcraft-starcraft then with WoW but all lost now.... except their cinematic quality [youtube=jSJr3dXZfcg] i wonder, with that workload, they like developing nothing where warcraft4 ? its been years since warcraft3 what they doing is like just patching their old game, adding expansion then when announcing new game, its for mobile which i bet like most of smartphone its gatcha-cash-grab game

People who do nothing but trade money are the scum of the Earth. These people make absolutely NOTHING. They direct companies making record profits to make even MORE money. Their net worth to society is nil. This is the 1%, affecting our gaming so they can squeeze every last nickel from the consumer and companies making them. How long since the French Revolution?

Any company worth their salt makes "record earnings" year after year. They have targets and they beat them. Every half decent company achieves this. So the emphasis on Blizz having a great year is moot. Firing 800 people... Depends on what kind of people they fired. Maybe they fired 800 WoW game masters because nobody really plays WoW any more.

minimum wage is sooooo bad - it needs to be gotten rid of. globally. forever.
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/276/276327.jpg
Holy shit, I didn't think it was this bad, I suppose I was quite naive. I always liked the games that Blizzard made and figured it was all fine and dandy but you never know what's happening behind the curtains.

A majority of them don't see it as we do and think of long term gains and profits, but in the end, it's up to us gamers (or "consumers", if you will) to be principled, vote with our dollars and not give into temptation.

The blizzard that you all know and loved died years ago, soon hopefully this will get through to you and after a brief grieving period, you'll be fine. This happened to me with Bungie. Don't forget about Diablo Immortal aka Diablo Mobile...
