Which part of what i said implies you shouldn't have a choice ? Not everyone has the same kinds of budget so logically if things are getting more expensive just for the sake of it and not because it actually costs that much to make something then it seems reasonable to want it to be priced fairly and if you want to spend $7000 on a something that may only be worth $2000 i have no issue with you doing that.
A thing is worth what it can be sold for, Bitcoin is a great example, its worth today whats it worth, 6 months ago its worth was different.

This companies make bilions nowadays, they have teams of financial analysts shaping the business and adpat. Just verify the profit YoY is this last years, they made a lot of money already.
And that is the sign of a well run and efficient business, they shouldn't be penalised for it. If there is no reward in life, for working hard, pursuing a dream, taking entrepreneurial risk, failing, starting again, then succeeding, what's the point. In 2000, Denise Coates registered the domain name Bet365, in 2020 she paid £276 million in tax, she also paid all her staff full wages during the Covid lockdown. If you punish successful people and companies by excessively taxing them then they simply move to another country, as i did four years ago.

Back at 1996 we did not had any 3D or even video acceleration, up to a point we should be now thankful that industry gave to us latest developments (always for a price). Nowadays we facing a new condition, a constant marketing pressure which trying to convince youth that happiness this is owning always latest computer parts production, no matter the cost. At current condition the ones demonstrating resistance at the voices of marketing they are my own friends too.
We did have 3Dfx Voodoo

No more no less, perfectly said. Is what I defend all the time, my country, that is very weak economy, should reduce taxes to attract more companies. But almost everyone I talk about that, they refute that companies should pay even more taxes... ok fine, and next moment, they are gone.

And S3 ViRGE, it was one of the first 2D/3D accelerators on the market. I had one, it was bad but worked.
data/avatar/default/avatar06.webp
Nah, in 1998 you already had Quake 2 (1997) and Half-Life 1.

This is year 1998 hardware, all that we had to test it with was Doom & Unreal 2.
This is factually incorrect. Released in October 1996 3dfx Voodoo Graphics 4 MB Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database

Honestly, I am WAITING for a huge DEPRESSION, not recession, to hit. Been saving all my money, not buying anything not required to survive, then will buy up all the goodies at rock bottom prices, which is what a real free trade economy should be. Hope all them direct to crypto sales manufactures choke on their freefall and let consumers reap it in. Brace yourselves everyone.

The issue with that is inflation, all the money you have saved has devalued as interest rates for savings are way less than the rate of inflation. You have more money but that money has the same or less buying power. With the exception of some long term investments, late last year i liquified all my invested assets and bought another house. Also oddly my 18 month old car now has a higher resale value than what i paid for it ha ha ha ha ha.

Agree inflation is crazy right now... But it will reset the market forcing everyone to create better value to stimulate it. My car actually increased in value as well but even when cashed out, the buying power will be less than before. Definitely looking at property as a long term savings plan... Banks are total poo poo everywhere.

Its NVIDIA fault 100%, all that brainwash, so to convince rich people, that without 4K monitor and 300FPS they will not have the advantage at gaming. The long story in short, we do not need e-sport class hardware for having a bit of fun with our own computer.
I sort of agree with you, and its mirrored in life. If somebody is struggling financially, then do they need an expensive phone, do they need to smoke, drink, gamble or pay for drugs? Well in my view obviously not but thats what we see in society, so many people who feel its their right to have nice things irrespective of their ability to afford them. Do i need a new monitor, no but PC hardware is my hobby and as ive said previously i dont smoke, gamble, have a Eastern European girlfriend or take drugs, so if i buy some for no other reason than i want it, well thats my choice. But i do agree that just out of principle i wouldn't spend £2000 on a monitor as it does something better than a £1000 one, and that something is not a thing i would use or need.

Heh, this is funny. My car is probably the weakest of them all with only 70HP but I should have a bad conscience when I aim to buy a 4080Ti, or maybe above. Can't make this up.

Commodore Amiga 500 was released in 1987 at a list price of £500 (equivalent to £1,430 in 2020) A PS5 cost about £500. And we are moaning about the cost of modern hardware

This is solely the opinion of one UK resident, it does not represent a global standard. And I did write this explanation, by be positive charged.
Havnt been a UK resident for 10 years ha ha ha ha Anyway i wasn't having a dig at you bud, was just a general observation that not everything is 'relatively' expensive nowadays. PC gaming isnt a right, its a luxury, whether or not people agree with that will depend on their views on life and their circumstances.

Best joke ever.... we did not have ever internet connection back then. Dial up 33K if you were lucky. Any way let's get back on topic.
How does the release of 3Dfx Voodoo in 1996 have anything to do with internet connection? 3Dfx Voodoo released in 1996, go troll somewhere else.
