Team Group T-Force Delta Max 1 TB SSD review - Final Words & Conclusion

Final Words & Conclusion

The T-FORCE DELTA MAX looks elegant for a SATA SSD drive, period. This is a TLC NAND product, and that does show in some areas (long sustained writes). It should be a good choice for gamers in need of a little bling due to the provided RGB lighting. You can control the effects via an RGB header or an internal USB port. The actual speed is more or less in line with the SATA standard, so you shouldn’t expect any anomalies here.

Performance

Bandwidth and IOPs are on a good level, so you shouldn’t have any complaints in this department either, and it’s not even that important for regular users. The drive did well in real-life tests, the temperatures were not under control (as a matter of fact) as it wasn't shown in any monitoring software, that's a drawback.

Conclusion

This is a good product. You can buy the 1TB version for around 150 USD. Arguably, you can purchase proper NVMe products for less money while quadrupling your performance at the very least. However, for a drive performing well and with a good implementation of RGB, this is a quite reasonable offer. You do need to be willing to pay extra for RGB though, as this is the conundrum here. You also need to realize that the price will most likely drop even further, as that’s what the current market trend dictates. Team Group gives a three-year warranty on the T-FORCE DELTA MAX SSD, which has already become the market standard, but it’s still more than your typical warranty period in many countries (still - you'd like to have more for this price). So, summing it all up, the T-FORCE DELTA MAX is a good product, but mainly the flaw with lack of temperature readings in the reviewed unit caused the lack of the recommendation, but it's still "Guru3d approved" as thus far most of TeamGroups products have been exemplary.
