Assembly and installation of the Acrylic HTPC
So guys, our biggest challenge in this review is photography ... how do you photograph something you are not supposed to see, transparent Plexiglas ? Well here's your answer, we opted the UV blue reflective coated version.
The HTPC comes as a DIY kit, this is why it can be offered at such a competitive price. And a warning up-front, this is a bit of work.
The SunbeamTech HTPC Acrylic case comes in a slim packaging, with all the components and kit packed together carefully. Each acrylic part is protected by a cloth so you won?ft end up with any scratches at a result of transport. Very important, especially with see-through cases like this one. The UV lights would light up each and every scratch. The SunbeamTech Acrylic HTPC has everything you need to build and assemble the chassis. [Ed - Instructions I hope too?] [ Hilbert - Dude, of course]
The sheer amount of components is amazing. Front panel connectivity, a manual, PC speaker, screws ... LOTS of them and many many more. Just sort all components out (most of it is labeled according to the manual). So just grab the installation guide and start. Once you start building it makes sense.
We start off very simple, by securing two PSU stands on the bottom plate. As you can now see, for the photo-shoot we'll continuously have a UV black light pointed at the chassis. You have no idea it was how silly the photo shoot itself was. But hey, we managed just fine I might add. This case is 100% clear and that poses a challenge. Once done we will prep the motherboard stand offs to the tray section.
- Thumbscrews holding the panels for easy access
- The chassis can hold any regular ATX motherboard
- Four blue LED Fans are included
- Completely see through from all sides and the material reacts to light
- Support for up to eight 3,5?? drives
A review on the SunBeamtech Acrylic HTPC chassis. A fully functional HTPC chassis, with proper cooling, front panel, UV lit fans all at a very sharp price of just 79 USD. Sunbeamtech offers their Acrylic HTPC case in two versions: a clear non-UV reagent acrylic (HTPC-T) or using a blue UV-reagent acrylic (HTPC-HUVB), the model we reviewed.
SunBeamTech UFO Acrylic Cube Case review
Face it, it's short from stunning how many cases there are out there to pick from. So why Acryllic you ask ? Well .. ehm I dunno. it's just looking so damn cool. See if you forget about the fact that kit's the worst material to use as a chassis cooling wise, incredibly "not" handy to work with, scratchable, smears everywhere and oy .. the fingerprints. But all that aside .. if you get the wiring and lighting right, an Acrylic chassis might be one of the coolest things you've ever built.
SunBeamtech Tuniq 3 chassis review
Today we'll peek at Sunbeamtech's Tuniq line of products (Tuniq is actually a subsidiary product series of Sunbeamtech). They have the new Tuniq 3 out, an aluminum looking and styled chassis which in our photo lab was one of the hardest things ever to photograph!
SunBeamtech 'Silent Storm' ATX mid tower
This PC case is made for the people who like silence, good cooling yet do not want to own a screamy flashy lit PC. And the guys from SunBeamtech did a very nice job in designing a mid-tower PC case like this.
