Introduction

Endgame XM1 gaming mouse
The end of a game for the competition?

In this article, we review the Endgame XM1 mouse, which debuted on the market in July 2019. The German manufacturer, Endgame Gear, isn't a household name in PC peripherals yet, having debuted on the market only recently (in 2019), with this particular model. The product is a wired gaming mouse, without any RGB lighting.  The most important features are the weight and the sensor. The device looks very classic at first glance. The weight is 70 g including the cable. The sensor is a Pixart PMW-3389 with 16,000 DPI, and the polling rate is 1000hz (1ms). Yes, that’s absurd and not necessarily useful, but still.

This is a product that’s suitable for gamers, and the manufacturer advertises it as a “Professional gaming mouse”. Endgame Gear, who makes the XM1, is offering a mouse that is compact, and nearly ambidextrous in design, and also perfect for all grip styles. Although the focus here is on (professional) gamers, the actual product ended up looking very ordinary, but with a very good interior (sensor). There is only one color option, and that’s matte black. They presented also an RGB version at Computex, but it’s not available yet.

So, what are the most important features here? Well, it’s the weight. 70 g is very, very low. Also, the sensor (Pixart PMW-3389 with 16,000 DPI) is definitely not a market standard. The Endgame XM1 is available at a €59.90 / $59,99 / £53,99. The warranty is 2 years, so that’s a standard one. Is this product worth its price, given the provided features and functionality? Let’s find out.
