Western Digital has introduced the PC SN5000S NVMe solid-state drive, aimed at OEM manufacturers. This solid-state drive utilizes BICS6 162-layer QLC flash memory technology. The PC SN5000S is designed with a PCIe Gen4x4 interface and supports the NVMe 2.0 protocol. It features a controller developed by Western Digital and offers configuration options in M.2 2280 and 2230 form factors. The drive is available in three storage capacities: 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. It incorporates nCache 4.0 technology, which enables dynamic SLC caching to improve performance. The maximum sequential read speed for all three variants is 6000MB/s, while the maximum sequential write speeds vary by capacity: 4200MB/s for the 512GB model, 5400MB/s for the 1TB model, and 5600MB/s for the 2TB model.

Regarding input/output operations per second (IOPS), the 512GB version achieves up to 500K for reads and 850K for writes, and both the 1TB and 2TB versions achieve up to 750K for reads and 900K for writes. Western Digital offers a 5-year warranty for this product line, with total bytes written (TBW) endurance ratings of 150TB for the 512GB model, 300TB for the 1TB model, and 600TB for the 2TB model, equating to a warranty of 300TB of writes per terabyte of capacity.
