In a blog post released yesterday, NVIDIA detailed the features of their next game-ready GeForce driver, which will be available to the general public on January 14th.

New blog posts on NVIDIA's website state that the future release of game-ready drivers will include an AI-enhanced version of Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR), which has been available in GeForce drivers for quite some time. Deep Learning Dynamic Super Resolution, or DLDSR for short, is the name given to the latest artificial intelligence-powered technology. It makes use of neural networks to provide exceptional visual quality on your monitor while using fewer input pixels.

In other words, the new DLDSR technology will only be compatible with GeForce RTX graphics cards, which have Tensor cores built-in. Users of GeForce GTX graphics cards are forced to use non-AI DSR scaling methods as their only alternative.
