Sabrent has launched the Rocket 4 series, a n updated line of DRAMless M.2 NVMe Gen 4 Solid State Drives (SSDs), designed to leverage the full capabilities of PCI-Express 4.0 x4 technology. These SSDs, available in 1 TB and 2 TB capacities, are notable for their high-speed data transfer rates, achieving up to 7.4 GB/s for sequential reads and 6.4 GB/s for sequential writes. Furthermore, they offer impressive 4K random access speeds, with performance peaking at 1 million IOPS for reads and 950,000 IOPS for writes. Engineered in the compact M.2-2280 form-factor, the Rocket 4 SSDs are equipped with the Phison E27T series DRAMless controller paired with Kioxia's 162-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory, known for its efficiency and durability.

Despite the high performance, these SSDs maintain lower heat levels thanks to a simple copper foil heat spreader, eliminating the need for additional cooling solutions in most scenarios. These drives are versatile, suitable for a wide range of applications including desktops, laptops, and gaming consoles like the PS5, offering substantial storage without compromising on speed or efficiency. The 1 TB model is priced at approximately $99.99, and the 2 TB model at $199.99, with Sabrent planning to expand the lineup with a 4 TB model in the near future.
