The report indicates that Microsoft will embrace the 14th generation of Intel Core processors. However, the innovation doesn't stop there, as ARM-based versions are also in the pipeline. Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon X Elite chip, purpose-built for this endeavor, is expected to find its way into these devices. Both platforms will feature a Neural Processing Unit (NPU), facilitating local AI computing. Internally, these new models are referred to as "CADMUS" PCs, with the entire project geared towards the upcoming Windows version, codenamed "Hudson Valley."
Aside from the technological upgrades, a fresh design is also in store. The forthcoming Surface Laptop 6 is poised to feature notably slimmer display bezels and rounded display corners. This design enhancement enables slightly larger screens within the same form factor. Two models are expected, one with a 13.8-inch display and a larger variant boasting a 15-inch screen.
Furthermore, users can anticipate an expansion in connectivity options, including two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. The magnetic Surface Connect charging port will make its return. A unique addition to the keyboard is a new key designed for accessing Windows Copilot.
The Surface Pro 10 is also poised for substantial improvements. Chief among them is a brighter display with support for HDR content. The panel will likely feature an anti-reflective coating to minimize glare, boasting a resolution of 2,160 x 1,440 pixels and rounded corners for enhanced aesthetics and functionality.
