LG Electronics announced the release of two new 4K LCD models featuring the IPS Black technology. These displays are set to be available from early May 2024, marking a significant advancement in visual display technology. These new models are designed for professionals and enthusiasts who require superior color accuracy and ergonomic functionality in their display technology. The new models, designated as 32UQ85RV-W and 27UQ85RV-W, incorporate the IPS Black panel technology, which provides enhanced contrast and color performance compared to standard IPS panels. This technology significantly improves the reproduction of dark scenes and color accuracy at various viewing angles. Each display comes equipped with a calibration sensor that, when used with LG’s Calibration Studio, allows for ongoing precision in color representation, crucial for graphic design, video editing, and other color-sensitive work.

Both models have been certified with VESA DisplayHDR 400, indicating their capability to produce more vivid and dynamic colors and a greater range of light and dark shades. This certification is essential for users who demand high dynamic range content for a more immersive viewing experience. Additionally, these displays offer practical multitasking features such as a KVM switch, which allows users to control two computers with a single set of keyboard, mouse, and display, enhancing productivity and workspace efficiency. They also support USB Power Delivery up to 90W, enabling users to charge devices directly through the display, reducing cable clutter and power socket usage.

The ergonomic stand included with these models supports a range of adjustments including tilt from -5 to 20 degrees and 90 degrees of pivot, facilitating better posture and viewing angles, thus enhancing user comfort during prolonged use.

The 31.5-inch model, 32UQ85RV-W, features a display with a brightness of 400 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 2,000:1, a DCI-P3 98% color gamut, and about 1.07 billion display colors. Its refresh rate is 60 Hz with a 5 ms response time. Connectivity options include DisplayPort, HDMI, USB Type-C, and USB 2.0 ports, alongside built-in speakers with a capacity of 5W each. This model measures 715mm in width, 239mm in depth, and an adjustable height of 517-627mm, weighing 7.2kg with the calibration sensor installed.

The 27-inch model, 27UQ85RV-W, shares similar specifications with its larger counterpart but measures 614mm in width, 239mm in depth, and an adjustable height of 460-570mm, weighing 5.9kg with the calibration sensor. Both models are estimated to be priced at approximately $889 USD for the 27-inch and $1,049 USD for the 31.5-inch, inclusive of tax.
