In early June, during the Computer 2024 event, Intel's CEO Pat Gelsinger is set to deliver a speech. He will talk about Intel's new products that are designed for personal computers and data centers, with a special focus on artificial intelligence (AI). These new products are part of what Intel calls the Arrow Lake series. This announcement will be made at Computex, which is organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and will run from June 4th to 7th.

Intel has a plan to bring out these new Arrow Lake computer chips in 2024. What makes Arrow Lake special is that, for the first time, these chips for desktop computers will be built in a way that uses different pieces or "tiles" put together. This is something Intel has already done with Meteor Lake chips, but those were just for laptops. This year, Intel also plans to release Meteor Lake chips for desktop computers.

One of the cool new features of the Arrow Lake chips is that they will have a special part dedicated to AI tasks, known as an NPU (Neural Processing Unit). This matches what was mentioned about focusing on AI in the Computex announcement. However, Arrow Lake chips are going to be different because they won't use LP (low power) cores, and they will only work with DDR5 type memory through the LGA1851 socket, which is a specific kind of connection for these chips to the rest of the computer.
