Intel is set to release its latest enthusiast-grade desktop processor, the Core i9-14900KS, on March 14, 2024. Designated as a Special Edition, the i9-14900KS may have limited availability compared to the standard i9-14900K and requires enhanced cooling and system specifications for optimal performance.

This processor utilizes the Raptor Lake Refresh architecture and is selected from premium silicon batches for superior overclocking potential and out-of-the-box performance. Intel has increased the maximum boost frequencies of the Performance (P) cores to 6.20 GHz and the Efficient (E) cores by 100-200 MHz, using the Thermal Velocity Boost technology. For context, the i9-14900K's P-cores have a maximum boost of 6.00 GHz. Historically, similar Special Edition processors, such as the i9-13900KS and i9-12900KS, were priced around $740, suggesting a similar price point for the i9-14900KS.
