Pro overclocking guru Der8auer retreived early samples of Intel upcoming 12-18 core i9 Skylake-X series CPUs. Hedecided to use the Delid-Die-Mate-X delidding tool and succesfully delidded at least one CPU.
On the photo below you can see the die of the CPU (I am not sure which model it is atm) but it certainly is monolithic and bigger as Intel's existing 7900X 10-core unit. The delid looks good, showcasing an undamaged CPU. You can see that the CPU is unsoldered, indicating Intel's classic way of using TIM in-between the heatspreader and CPU die. Also: very interesting and weird to see, look at the glued double PCBs.
