has announced the release of the Gecko Pro LX SSD cooler, specifically designed for M.2-2280 form-factor drives. This cooler incorporates an extruded aluminum monoblock heatsink, equipped with a 20 mm fan for ventilation. The fan operates at variable speeds, ranging from 3,600 to 12,000 RPM, delivering airflow of 0.7 CFM with a static pressure of 4.00 mm H₂O. At maximum speed, the fan produces noise levels up to 26 dBA. The cooler features a thermal pad that ensures effective thermal contact with the drive, accommodating variations in component height.
An additional thermal pad is provided for application on the drive's reverse side to enhance cooling by interfacing with the retention module. The fan's lifespan is rated at 60,000 hours, and it connects via a standard 4-pin PWM connector, allowing for speed adjustments within its operating range. The dimensions of the Gecko Pro LX cooler are 70 mm x 25 mm x 21.9 mm (length x width x height), and it weighs approximately 53 grams. While Akasa has not disclosed the pricing, they have confirmed that the product will come with a 2-year warranty.
