The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless has no RGB; it’s mainly black and weighs 325 g (so it’s a light headset). The build quality is very good (but very slightly worse than the Nova Pro, which we had a chance to check). It’s comfortable on one side but very robust on the other.

The Arctis Nova 7 Wireless earcups are significant and padded with a cloth fabric. The headband (which is covered with dark steel) is quite flexible, and it’s pleasant to the touch. Overall, the cups are comfortable (and it’s possible to rotate them 90° inwards), even for a guy with a big head like me. Head sizes differ, but most users will probably find that they fit.

The feel of the headset is very pleasing; the Arctis Nova 7 Wireless design is elegant, well-made, and doesn’t feel rough to the touch.

The headband is also reinforced with metal, which means it should be durable – and while there’s no RGB on offer, it isn’t too much of a loss. There is no SteelSeries logo/name on top of the headband.

The suspended headband will automatically stretch and adjust as needed. A padded elastic band underneath is attached with four plastic clips. It’s stretchable, and it’s possible to change it from the provided black to other colors (by buying the so-called Nova Booster Pack – red, lilac, mint, rose quartz, or Pride), also the (magnetic) ear plates in the bundle.

The circular plates bearing the logo sit in a large oval shape. The adjustable (cloth) memory foam ear pads and headband work well. The SteelSeries logos are placed on each plate. It’s possible to detach it (they’re magnetic) and buy the mentioned Nova Booster Pack for 50 USD/35 EUR in red/lilac/mint/rose quartz and Pride (rainbow) variants.

You can see the audio control wheel and a button on the left ear cup for muting the microphone. There’s also an analog 3.5 mm 5-pole audio input. The cable is 1.2 m, so not too long.

The right ear cup has a ChatMix dial (for adjusting the ratio between the game you’re playing and the voice app) and a USB Type-C port (for battery charging/updating the firmware).

The microphone is retractable, and hiding it in the left ear cup is possible.

The rubberized arm is flexible. The red LED light indicates that the microphone is muted. Also, you should hear a subtle “beep” when you mute/unmute.
