USB to S/Pdif System

We do a lot of work and testing using S/Pdif, so we experiment and work with very low jitter USB to S/Pdif systems using USB isolators, external power, low jitter converters and high quality cables.  We are constantly testing and improving our testing systems and S/Pdif output signals.  The system outlined is one of many we have been using lately in the Guru3D Audio Lab for testing external components.

  • USB Isolator: Circuits@Home USB isolator
  • USB to S/Pdif converter: Teralink X2

Cables

  • Optical: JPS Ultraconductor2
  • Coax: JPS Ultraconductor2
  • USB: AudioQuest Carbon

The system is as outlined, PC->Carbon cable->USB Isolator->USB AtoB adapter->Teralink X2-> S/Pdif output (both coax and optical). We also decided to reach into our cable closet and pull out a high quality power cable in the form of the JPS PAC lite.

Lets wire all this gear up and test the A-1 DAC shall we?
