The settings are updated on the fly and saved in the internal memory, so the software doesn't need to run after you've set things your way. The DPI adjustment ranges from 100 to 19 000,  with 50 DPI steps in the range of 100-4 000 DPI, and then it's 100 DPI steps when you're over 4 000.  There's also the option to adjust the polling rate (125, 250, 500, or 1000 Hz). You can set a button response time between 1 and 32 ms (in steps of 1 ms). What's more? Lift-off distance is also adjustable and can be set to low or high, and you can change the click speed. Last option is the timer for soft and deep sleep, to conserve the battery.
