To the left-middle in the photo you can see one of the two M2 slots, both of them are x4, this means 32 Gbps. Some extra good news, you can actually RAID the two and double up performance once more.

The Gigabyte Z270 Gaming series have nice rather bright looks as there are LED arrays (red) everywhere, from top to bottom towards the audio circuitry isolation traces; up-to LED lit micro switches. Down below you can spot the diagnostic POST LED a bit better. A LED strip connector is on-board which is mighty handy.

Again LOTs of LEDs. And yes even the trace in front of the ATX power connectors lights up as well as the DIMM slots. We'll talk about RGB FUSION (the programmable RGB LED interface) in a separate chapter.

In the review we'll use some seriously fast Trident-Z memory from G.Skill, 3,867 MHz !
