Performance - Ethernet LAN 1 up-to 10 Gigabit

Next, to WIFI performance, the new trend is faster Ethernet. In the coming years, we'll slowly transition from 1 Gigabit towards 10 Gigabit connections, with 2.5 and 5 Gbps available. We have invested in a 10 Gigabit infrastructure to test with. We start with a 1 Gigabit uplink and then hook into the 2.5, 5 or 10 Gbps to scientifically measure the throughput. This device has one jack with a maximum of 2.5 gigabits per second.

Above: 2.5 Gbps throughput as measured with PerfTest.

Here we can see 2.5 Gbps throughput, with iPerf we can simulate multiple clients, and here we configured the software at 4 clients with ten load runs. We average out at 2.36 Gbps on the 2.5 Gbps LAN connection.
