Final words and conclusion

As little as it seems, Corsair made some significant changes with the Glaive PRO. First and foremost the new 18K sensor, whether you find that is important over a 16K one, I honestly doubt it. Do I notice any difference, no of course not. Bigger is better as a sticker on boxes. However, that does not leave out the fact that the Glaive holds a really terrific sensor.

The new replaceable thumb grips have been updated, they are formed a bit more ergonomic and offer a better-textured grip. Typically, if you are like me, you'll choose one of your preference and leave it at that. I never feel the need to swap them out. However, it's really nice to have a grip that matches your preference. One of the best upgrades is to be found in DPI selection. On the previous model, there was one single DPI button, so you needed to cycle through all DPI modes in an upwards fashion to reach your DPI mode of preference, chances are good that by the time you reached the DPI mode, your enemy already killed you. This PRO model now comes with two buttons, you can swiftly and cycle DPI modes up and down, and that is the proper way to do it. Also, the LEDs are now RGB configurable, whereas the previous model had static blue ones.

The GLAIVE is more of a generic mouse in the sense that it'll be liked and can be used by many people. Much like any mouse you'll need to get used to it. But once you made your thumb rest selection it will merely take an hour or so before you realize how comfortable the mouse is and feels.

Any decent gaming mouse these days itself really is not an evolutionary upgrade or anything, the GLAIVE, however, offers a little extra TLC. The removable magnetic thumb rests, for example, the very strong yet agile Omron button switches, the RGB lighting, the tactile feel, the housing, the braided cable. Yeah, it's all really good TBH. Corsair continuously wants to do things a little different and we are in agreement, these are fun additions alright.

How good is it?

The overall feel of the mouse is good as well as it is comfortable, I also feel that people with slightly above average large hands will like the mouse really well as it is a hint bulky. No biggy if you have small hands, but it is something I noticed a couple of times. The hardware of the mouse is excellent, the design of the mouse is good and comfortable, and you get a mouse with mucho software options, enough buttons that are programmable, it has cool looks and even has an adjustable weight system. We did not experience lag or input issues. The mouse is connected with one USB cable, braided and is roughly a 2m cord. The mouse does not feel cheap and is simply downright comfortable to use. The buttons have a good feedback when pressed and also offer very good response. I also wanted to make a note on the CUE (Corsair Utility Engine) software. I have seen it evolve from average to really good, the state of the software as it is now. It is impressive to see, easy to work with and updated the mouse firmware all by itself. Hats off to the software team as that is a nice accomplishment.

Concluding

The new PRO model of the Glaive RGB is an evolutionary upgrade towards the series, not a revolutionary one. The previous model was already really good though but had a design error in that single DPI button. That's been fixed, properly. Add to that better thumb grips and a newer Pixart sensor, and you have the ingredients for what I consider one of the best mice on the market. So, what about a wireless version Corsair? Once again has a mouse for you to purchase in the 79 Euros/USD domain. And yeah, it is a pretty frickin nice mouse as well. You will need a bit of time (or at least I did) to get used to it. But after a few hours or maybe a day you'll learn to love the ergonomics, the balanced weight and the sheer fact that you have a proper gaming mouse. it is a bit on the large side, however, if you have large hands, you're going to love that is it sits very comfortable in the palm of your hand. In the previous review, my only nag was the DPI selector, that's been fixed. So a really good mouse now has become a great one. It is a very well designed gaming mouse with a strong iCUE software suite that goes along with it. Choosing a mouse is a bit personal, so this last line in that regard is subjective, but the Glaive PRO is currently my personal favorite. That said, I do not often allow a personal preference in a concluding paragraph, so that's how good I find this critter to be.
