Specifications and features

So, the Carbide Air 740 will be listed at an MSRP of $149 and a number close to that in EUR. You'll spot it in the stores for, give or take, a tenner lower than in the initial launch wave. Here's a quick spec and features overview after which we'll immediately dive into the product showcase. The Carbide Series Air 740 is an evolution of the Air 540. The Air 740 takes everything that made the Air 540 great; dual-chamber layout, Direct Airflow Path, and multiple air or liquid cooling options... and makes it better.

  • Dual-chamber Direct Airflow Path design: utilizes dual chambers to deliver cooler air to your CPU, graphics cards, motherboard, memory, and other PCI-E components without your drives or power supply getting in the way
  • Industrial-style ergonomics and space-saving internal design: offers massive internal volume by moving the power supply, SSD and optical drives into a separate chamber
  • Includes custom Air Series AF140L intake and exhaust fans: based on the award-winning AF140, the included fans provide great airflow performance at lower noise levels than typical case fans
  • Expansion room: for up to eight 120mm or seven 140mm fans, a 240mm or 280mm top radiator, and a 240mm, 280mm, or 360mm radiator on the front panel

Highlighted Features

  • Front 2x 140mm fan (included): With mounts for 3 x 120mm fans or 2 x 140mm fans, the front can support a 240, 280, or 360mm radiator
  • Bottom 240/2800mm fan mounts: The bottom of the case can house 2 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm fans with room for 240mm/280mm radiators
  • Top 240/280mm fan mounts: The top of the case can house 2 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm fans with room for 240mm/280mm radiators
  • Rear 140mm fan and eight expansion slots: An included 140mm rear fan and eight rear expansion slots, all vented, allow expansion and airflow exhaust
  • Up to 370mm clearance for GPUs, 170mm for CPU coolers, and 225mm for PSU: Maximum capacity for cooling all PC components
  • Four tool-free 2.5” SSD mounts: Easily add or remove 2.5” drives
  • Three tool-free 3.5” drive mounts in a modular drive cage: Moved into the secondary chamber for easy cable routing
  • Plentiful cable routing cutouts and tie downs: To keep your system neat and tidy

The Carbide Series Air 740 features a dual-chamber direct airflow path design that allows for no obstruction between fans and the components requiring cooling. Whether with traditional air cooling or superior liquid cooling the options are almost endless with mounts for up to 8 fans inside the chassis.
